HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-724 Carmel/Clay Parks & Rec ORDINANCE NO: D ~2 ~ AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING THE CREATION OF THE CARMEL/CLAY BOARD OF PARKS AND RECREATION AND ABOLISHING THE CARMEL PARKS BOARD WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana has by ordinance created the Carmel Board of Parks and Recreation; and, WHEREAS, the Common Council has entered into a Joinder Agreement with Clay Township for the creation, administration and development of parks in the City and Township; and, WHEREAS, the Joinder Agreement provides that the City shall by Ordinance ratify the adoption of the Agreement after the same has been signed by the parties; and, WHEREAS, it is no longer necessary that the Carmel Board of Parks and Recreation exist separate and apart from the Joint Board; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana that: The City of Carmel Board of Parks and Recreation is here by abolished and the ordinance creating the same is repealed. The Joinder Agreement between the City of Carmel, Indiana and Clay Township executed by the City Council on the 5th day of August, 1991 is hereby ratified and made a part of the City Code pursuant to the adoption of this ordinance, effective on the date of signing. Those funds, monies and accounts heretofore establishedby and on behalf of the Carmel Board of Parks and Recreation are hereby transferred to an account or accounts, as may be required by the Clerk/Treasurer, for the City of Carmel's contribution to the funding and continued operation of the Joint Board as provided by the Joinder Agreement. Further, the Clerk/Treasurer is directed to make the transfer of those funds for that purpose forthwith. ALL OF WHICH IS ORDAINED, this ? day of October, 1991. Attest es Cle'.~°~~ car\park. radif
