Police Officers, Firefighters and Civilians shall receive one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00) per year for longevity. That an employee must have been in the full employment of the City of Carmel a minimum of six months during a year to receive a year's credit on longevity renumeration which shall be added to their above salaries on an individual basis at a rate of $150.00 per year up to twenty years. Section 3. That the appointed members of the Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Cable TV Advisory Committee be paid the sum of $35.00 per regular schedule meeting attended. Appointed members of the Planning Commission shall receive an additional $35.00 per standing sub-committee meeting attended. Said sum for the PC, BZA, and CATV to be paid from tax revenue. Section 4. That the appointed members of the Board of Public Works and Safety be paid a salary of $ 2,470.00 per year. In addition to the salary, the members of the Board of Public Works and Safety shall be paid $35.00 per meeting attended and that the Board of Public Works and Safety be paid 1/3 from tax revenue, 1/3 from Water Utility and 1/3 from Sewer Utility. Section 5. That the city employees of the Department of Community Development shall be entitled to receive the sum of $35.00 per meeting, as additional compensation for attending each regularly scheduled meeting of the Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, or their respective committees. Such additional compensation shall be paid from the budgets of the Plan Commission Board of Zoning Appeals. Section 6. That the compensation for overtime worked shall be paid to employees according to the policies of the City of Carmel and shall be in addition to amounts herein specified. Section 7. That First Class Patrolmans and Firefighters salaries as stated in this Ordinance shall be used as the base salary for purposes of pension calculations. Section 8. That police officers exempted from Social Security shall receive an identical percentage of their salaries as determined for Social Security as an additional compensation which shall be deferred. Section 9. That the firefighters who work a holiday shall receive Seventy Five Dollars ($75.00) for that holiday shift which encompasses the 8:00 a.m. until midnight portion of that holiday. Section 10. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approve according to law.
