D-1541-01 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 3, DIVISION II, SECTION 2-38 OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE WHEREAS, the City of Carmel traderstands the importance of providing health insurance benefits for its employees and their families; and WHEREAS, the City is committed to offering employees a quality health care plan or plans, and assuming a portion of the cost of such plan(s); and WHEREAS, the City currently pays 75% of all medical, dental and vision premiums for employees and their families; and WHEREAS, the City may desire to vary its percentage of the premium payments as an incentive for employees to participate in one plan or another. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Cannel, Indiana, as follows: Section I: A. Chapter 2, Article 3, Division II, Section 2-38(a) is amended as follows: Sec. 2-38 Health Insurance. (a) Employee Insurance The City will offer one or more plans of medical, dental and/or vision insurance to its full-time employees. All full-time employees, including probationary employees, shall be eligible for such insurance coverage after 30 days of employment with the City. The City shall contribute seventy-five percent (75%) or more of the premiums for single and family coverage, depending on the plan selected by an employee. Employees will be informed of the City's contribution level no later then November of each year, to be effective the following January 1. Section II: All prior Ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
