AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CZTY OF CARM EL,
INDIANA, PROVIDING FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FROM
THE GENERAL FUND
WHEREAS, the Indiana State Board does not take into account a prior years
appropriated, but unspent funds when reviewing a unit's annual budget
appropriation; and
WHEREAS, the Indiana State Tax Board reduced the City of Carmel's 2001
budget; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carmel has excess funds and wishes to appropriate
sufficient funds to restore the 2001 City of Carmel Budget to the level at which it
was previously approved by the Council and Mayor, specifically in the Carmel City
Court; and
WHEREAS, the Carmel City Council previously approved the transfer of
$25,730.00 from line item # 100 (Full Time Salaries) and $6,126.00 from line
item # 220 (Health Insurance) to the various Capital Outlay accounts within the
budget of the Carmel City Court to pay incurred computer hardware and
software expenses of the court; and
WHEREAS, the Carmel City Court needs an additional appropriation in the
same amount to be returned to its previously approved account to pay the
salaries and related personnel expenses of the Carmel City Court; and
WHEREAS, said additional appropriation is necessary to provide for the daily
operation of the Carmel City Court; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Carmel, Indiana, the following additional appropriation:
GENERAL FUND - $31,856.00
LINE ITEM # 110 - Full Time Salaries $25, 730.00
LINE 1TEM # 220 - Health Insurance 6,126.00

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR ADDITIONAL
APPROPRIATION
from the
GENERAL FUND
OPERATING BALANCE
Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the City of Carmel, Hamilton County,
Indiana, that the proper legal officers of the City of Carmel, at their regular
meeting place at Carmel City Hall, One Civic Square, Council Chambers at
7 p.m. on the 16th day of April 2001, will consider the following appropriation in
excess of the budget for 2001:
$31,856.00
from
the
GENERAL FUND
OPERATING BALANCE
tO
CARMEL CITY COURT BUDGET
LINE ITEM #1 I0 -FULL-TIME SALARIES $25,730.00
and
LINE ITEM #220 - HEALTH INSURANCE $6,126.00
The above to be used for salaries and related personnel expenses.
The source of revenue for the above is the operating balance of the
General Fund.
Taxpayers appearing at the meeting shall have a right to be heard. The additional
appropriation as finally made will be referred to the State Board of Tax
Commissioners. The Board will make a written determination as to the
sufficiency of fimds within fifteen (15) days of receipt of a certified copy of the
action taken.
