ORDINANCE NO. D-1512-01
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 8, ARTICLE 9, SECTION 8-121 OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE
WHEREAS, I.C. 9-21-1-3(a)(2) permits the City of Carmel, Indiana ("City") to regulate traffic by
means of automatic traffic control signals; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to establish automatic traffic control signals at certain City
intersections.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel.
Indiana, as follows:
1. The foregoing Recitals are fully incorporated herein by this reference.
2. Chapter 8, Article 9, Section 8-121 of the Carmel City Code should be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 8-121 Automatic Traffic Control Signals.
(a) Automatic traffic control signals shall be established at the following City
intersections:
3rd Avenue Southwest and City Center Drive
96th Street and Delegates Row
96th Street and Hazel Dell Parkway
96th Street and private drive entrance to HH Gregg Facility
96th Street and Priority Way
96th Street and Threel Road
116th Street and AAA Way
116th Street and College Avenue
116th Street and Gray Road
116th Street and Hazel Dell Parkway
116th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue
126th Street and Gray Road
131't Street and Gray Road
Carmel Drive and AAA Way
Carmel Drive and Guilford Road
Carmel Drive and Old Meridian Street
Carreel Drive and Pennsylvania Street
Carmel Drive and RangeLine Road
Main Street and 4th Avenue
Main Street and Guilford Road
Main Street and Old Meridian Street [Flashing Signal Only]

(b)
All automatic traffic control signals lawfully established prior to the codification of
this Section shall also remain in full force and effect.
(¢)
The Carmel Street Department shall promptly post appropriate signals, signs
and/or markings at the intersections listed in sub-section (a) above."
3. All prior ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance are
hereby repealed as of the effective date of this Ordinance.
4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, signing by the Mayor
and such publication as is required by law.
