ORDINANCE NO. D-1590-02
AS AMENDED
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA,
ADOPTING A PROMOTION FUND FOR THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK-TREASURER AS
CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 4, SECTION 2-112 OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, has the authority to create
certain City funds to be used for the purposes provided by law; and
WHEREAS, by its Ordinance No. D-604, the Common Council created and adopted a
"Promotion Fund for the Office of the Clerk-Treasurer" ("Fund"), which Ordinance was not codified in
the City Code; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk-Treasurer desires to increase the annual amount of monies to be
appropriated and deposited in the Fund from Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) to One Thousand Dollars
($1,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Common Council hereby approves such funding increase and the codification of
this Ordinance in the City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel,
Indiana, as follows:
.Section 1: The foregoing Recitals are fully incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 2: That Chapter 2, Article 4, Section 2-112 is hereby approved, adopted and made a part
of the Carmel City Code and shall read as follows:
"Sec. 2-112. Clerk-Treasurer's Office Promotional Fund.
(a) There is established a Clerk-Treasurer's Office Promotional Fund.
(b) The Fund shall be funded by monies appropriated from the General Fund, and
used for the purposes provided by applicable law, with all monies therein being properly
receipted and disbursed.
(c) The Fund shall be administered by the fiscal officer of the City.
(d) The Fund shall consist of monies properly appropriated therefore and
deposited therein, in an amount not to exceed $1,000 during any one calendar year.
(e) The fiscal officer of the City shall account, by separate line item, for the receipt
and disbursement of all sums to and from the Fund."
Section 3. All prior City ordinances or parts thereof that are inconsistent with any provision of this
Ordinance are hereby repealed as of the effective date of this Ordinance.

Section 4. If any portion of this Ordinance is for any reason declared to be unconstitutional or
invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance so long as
enforcement of same can be given the same effect.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall be in full fome and effect from and after its passage and signing
by the Mayor.
