D-1639-03 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION'S BUDGET FROM THE GENERAL FUND OPERATING BALANCE WHEREAS, the City of Carmel needs to replace four inoperable exterior clocks mounted in thc cupola of City Hall, at a total cost of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000), which costs were not anticipated in the 2003 Budget; and WHEREAS, the "Other Maintenance Supplies" line item funds available to the Department of Administration for the remainder of calendar year 2003 are insufficient to cover the normal operational costs paid from that line item, due to the unexpected expenditure of budgeted funds from that line item to purchase the supplies and equipment necessary for the maintenance and upkeep of the reflection pool recently acquired by the Carmel Redevelopment Commission ("Reflection Pool"); and WHEREAS, there remains a continuing need for the City to maintain the Reflection Pool throughout the remainder of calendar year 2003, which costs were also not anticipated in the 2003 Budget; and WHEREAS, the Hamilton County Election Board has recently assessed an "Apportionment of Election Costs for the 2003 Primary Election" to the City of Carmel in the amount of Forty-Four Thousand, Two Hundred Twenty-Three Dollars and Eighty-Two Cents ($44,223.82), which costs were not anticipated in the 2003 Budget; and WHEREAS, sufficient unencumbered monies remain in the General Fund to fund the above needs. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, that the following additional sum of money is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund and for the purposes specified, subject to applicable laws, as follows: $85,000 From the GENERAL FUND OPERATING BALANCE To CITY OF CARMEL DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION (Sub-Department 1205 - General Administration) Line Item 389 Line Item 515-01 Line Item 585 Other Maintenance Supplies $20,000.00 Maintenance Contracts Equipment $20,000.00 Census & Election Fees $45,000.00 Page One of Two Pages Prepared by Douglas C.
