AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE D-565, SALARY ORDINANCE
FOR 1989 - SALARIES FOR CARMEL FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS,
salaries
the year
the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, has set the
for employees of the Carmel Fire Department to be paid during
1989.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel,
to-wit:
That the salaries for the employees of the Carmel Fire Department to be
paid during the year 1989 are amended as follows:

A new Firefighter is considered a 3rd Class Firefighter and a new Civilian
employee is considered a 3rd Class Civilian.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that an employee must have been in a full employ of
the City of Carmel a minimum of six months during a year to receive a year's
credit on longevity renumeration which shall be added to their above
salaries on an individual basis at a rate of $150.00 per year.
BE FURTHER ORDAINED that for the purpose of pension calculation, the base
salary of a First Class Firefighter shall be deemed to be the base wage
of a Firefighter as stated in this ordinance.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that compensation for overtime worked shall be paid
to employees according to the policies of the City of Carmel and shall be
in addition to amounts herein specified.
