HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter - Franciscan Plant Substitution November 17, 2021 Mr. Daren Mindham Principal Urban Forester City of Carmel One Civic Square Carmel, Indiana 46032 RE: PZ19060019 DP ADLS Franciscan Orthopedic Center of Excellence Daren: Due to availability, certain species originally specified for the project noted above are not available through nurseries and substitution are required. Those substitutions are as follows: ORIGINALLY SPECIFIED SPECIES PROPOSED SUBSTITUTIONS TREES (1) Que-r Quercus rubra Red Oak (1) Nys-s Nyssa sylvatica Sour Gum (16) Pic-g Picea glauca ‘Globosa’ Dwarf Globe Spruce (16) Pic-g Picea glauca White Spruce SHRUBS (73) Die-l Diervilla loniceri ‘Kodiac Orange’ (73) Fot-g Fothergilla gardenia Dwarf Fothergilla Please let me know if there are any concerns with these substitutions. We consider these substitutions to be equal in both plant quality and quantity. Nyssa sylvatica was already approved during the original plan submittal process and adding one more does not take the plant quantity beyond the 20% threshold. There are other oaks provided on the project, as well. Thank you for your time concerning this matter. Alyssa P.
