CARMEL CITY CODE CONCERNING
CITY PARKING LOTS
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is necessary and therefore in
the best interest of the City of Carmel, Indiana to amend the Carmel
City.~Code in order to add to the Rrovisions presently thereof;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Carmel, Hamilton County, Indiana, that:
Two hour (120 minutes) parking zones are hereby created and
established on the following city parking lots of the City of Carmel:
The city parking lot located on the north side of Main Street in
the first block west of Range Line Road. This lot is bounded on the
south side by Main Street, on the west side by the building located at
38 West Main Street, on the north side by the east-west alley between
Main Street and 1st Street, N.W., and on the east side by the building
located at 26 W. Main Street.
The City parking lot located on the north side of Main Street in
the first block west of Range Line Road. This lot is bounded on the
south side by Main street, on the west side by 1st Avenue N.W., on the
north side by the east-west alley between Main Street and 1st Street,
N.W., and on the east side by the building located at 38 West Main
Street
all between the hours of 8:00 a.m., E.S.T. and 6:00 p.m., E.S.T.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that:
Any police officer for the city who shall observe any violation
of this ordinance shall attach to such vehicle a notice to the owner
or operator thereof that such vehicle has been parked in violation of
a provision of this ordinance and instructing such owner or operator
to report to police headquarters of the City of Carmel in regard to
such violation. Each owner or operator may, within 24 hours of the
time such notice was attached to such vehicle, pay to the City
Clerk-Treasurer, as a peqa_~l~ for and in full satisfactiOn of such
violation, the sum of $ ~_~-~_~- upon failure of such owner or
operator to make such payment within said 24-period, such owner or
opertor shall then be required to appear before the appropriate court
and be subject to the penalties provided for violations of the
provisions of Chapter 41 of the Carmel City Code.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that nothing in this Ordinance shall be deemed
to conflict with provisions of said City Code, except as specifically
set out herewith and amended hereby.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and publication as required by statute.
