ORDINANCE NO. D-1730-04
AS AMENDED
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 8~ ARTICLE 4~ SECTION 8-30 AND CHAPTER 8~ ARTICLE 9,
SECTION 8-120 OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, has the authority to establish
stop intersections on public streets and thoroughfares located within the City's corporate limits; and
WHEREAS, is in the best interests of public safety and welfare to now establish vehicular
traffic stops at the intersections of Versailles Drive and Wyndotte Drive and of Shakamac Drive and
Wyndotte Drive, both intersections located within the City's corporate limits, through October 31,
2006.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel,
Indiana, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing Recitals are fully incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
Section 2. Chapter 8, Article 9, Section 8-120 of the Carmel City Code, as incorporated by
reference into Carmel City Code Chapter 8, Article 4, Section 8-30, should be and the same are hereby
amended to include the following streets:
"Street Name
Direction of Travel Sign
Intersecting Street
Versailles Drive [until 11/1/06]
Versailles Drive [until 11/1/06]
Shakamac Drive [until 11/1/06]
Shakamac Drive [until 11/1/06]
Southbound Stop
Northbound Stop
Southbound Stop
Northbound Stop
Wyndotte Drive
Wyndotte Drive
Wyndotte Drive
Wyndotte Drive
Section 3. The stop signs at the above intersections are approved and authorized from the
effective date of this Ordinance through October 31, 2006, at which time the Common Council's
authorization and approval of said stop signs at said intersections shall cease without further Council
action or order, and the Street Department is instructed, promptly on or after November 1, 2006, to
remove said traffic signs at said intersections.
Section 4. The remaining provisions of Carmel City Code Sections 8-120 and 8-30 are not
affected by this Ordinance and shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 5. The Carmel Street Department is instructed to promptly erect and maintain such
traffic signs as are necessary to effectuate this Ordinance.
Section 6. All prior City ordinances or parts thereof that are inconsistent with any provision of
this Ordinance are hereby repealed as of the effective date of this Ordinance.

Section 7. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage,
execution by the Mayor, and publication as required by law.
