D-1687-04 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION (1205) BUDGET FROM THE GENERAL FUND OPERATING BALANCE WHEREAS, the City of Carmel, Indiana, has been notified by the Hamilton County Election Administrator that the City's apportionment of the November 4, 2003 Hamilton County general election costs and direct expenses total Thirty-Seven Thousand One Hundred Sixty-Three Dollars and Seventy-Three Cents ($37,163.73), a copy of which apportionment notice is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, the costs for such election expenses were not anticipated when the 2004 Operating Budget of the City of Carmel was prepared and approved; and WHEREAS, an amount of Thirty-Seven Thousand One Hundred Sixty-Three Dollars and Seventy-Three Cents ($37,163.73) is thus needed to cover these unanticipated expenses in the 2004 budget of the Department of Administration (1205); and WHEREAS, the City of Carmel has excess funds in the amount of Thirty-Seven Thousand One Hundred Sixty-Three Dollars and Seventy-Three Cents ($37,163.73) in the operating balance of the General Fund to appropriate to such item for this unanticipated expense; and WHEREAS, proper notice of this additional appropriation of funds has been given. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, that the following additional sum of money should be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund for the purposes specified, subject to applicable laws, as follows: $37,163.73 From The GENERAL FUND OPERATING BALANCE To CITY OF CARMEL DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION (1205) Line Item #585 Census and Election Fees $37,163.73 This Ordinance shall become effective upon its passage and execution by the Common Council and the Mayor as required by law.
