~N OP~DINkNCE GI¥~NG AND GRANTING TO THE STANDARD OIL COb~PANY
A CORPORATION DULY ORGANIZED AND DOING BUSINESS UNDER AND PURSUANT
to the laws of the State of Indiana, to erect, establish and main-
tain on the re~l estate hereinafter described, such warehouse,
~u~ ks and other buildings as shell be necessary for the conducting
of its business and to store therein illuminating oils, naptha,
gasoline and other mineral oils or fluids, the products of p~ro-
lento.
BE IR ORDAINED BY THE BOI~RD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF CAPJ,~EL,
COUNTY OF H~2~ILTON, STATE OF INDIANA.
Section 1. That the St~_ndard Oil Company, a corpormtion
ganized and doing business under and by virtue of the laws of the
State of Indiaua, is hereby ~ranted permission to construct and
maintain in said town for a period of fifty years, such warehouse,
tanks, and other structures as shall be necessary for the propert
conducting of its business and to store therein illuminating oils,
coal oil, naptha ~d gasoline, and ether mineral oils and fluids,
the product of petroleum. Said buildings,t~uk and warehouse and
other structures to be composed of good substantial materials
suitable for said structures and the same to be ~rected ~nd built
in a good, substantial and workmanlike m~nner and situated on the
following, deecribed real estate in said town, and none other,
to-wit:
A parcel of ground 100 feet 10ng north and south by 60 feet
wide east and west, and lying immediately east of the rig~ht of way
of the Morion P~.ilroad and south of the south line of '~alnut Street
in said town. Being situated in the northwest corner of the fol-
lowing described tract to-wit ~ part of the east hal~ of the south
Section 2. Said structures shall be built and erected in such
msnner as to reasonably provide protection against explosions and
fire and damage to contiguous and surrounding buildings and proper-
ties and shall be kept by said company in reasonable condition of
repair. The marshal of said town shall have the power and right to
enter upon said premises at ~easonable hours for the purpose ef in-
specting said warehouse, tanks, and other structures to ascertain the
cohdition thereof.
Section ~. Auy violation of the terms and conditions of this
ordinance on the part of said Standard 0il Company shall at the op-
tion of said Board of Trustees work a forfeiture of the same.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances conflicting
herewith are hereby repealed.
SeCtion 5. This ordinance sh~ll be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and the acceptance thereof by said
S~audard Oil Company in writing slg~ed by the proper officers of
said company.
Passed and approved by the Board ~f Trustt~es of ssid town this 16th
d~y ~ June, 1919.
