WHEREAS, the owners of the territory hereinafter described have
filed a petition for annexation thereof to the Town of Carmel, Indiana, and ~
WHEREAS, said territory is urban in character, essentialmunicipal~
services are presently available to the inhabitants of said territory, the
Town of Carmel is financially able to provide such services to said territory
to be annexed and more than one-eighth of the aggregate external boundaries
of said territory coincide with the existing boundaries of the Town of Carmel,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE TOWN OF CARMEL, INDIANA, that the following described territory
in Clay Township, Hamilton County, Indiana be and the same is hereby annexed
to and shall hereafter be a part of the Town of Carmel, Indiana:
A part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 36, Township 18
North, Range 3 East, in Hamilton County, Indiana, being
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of "Harvey B. Stout and
Wife Tracts", a survey recorded as Deed Record 126, page
5Z4 in the Office of the Recorder of Hamilton County, Indiana
(said point being on the East line of said Southeast Quarter
Section a distance of (10 rods 15 links) 174.900 feet South
00 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds of the Northeast corner
thereof); running thence South 00 degrees 00 minutes 00
seconds upon and along said Quarter Section East line a
distance of (70 rods 1Z-1/Z linksl 1, 163.Z50 feet to a point;
running thence West (7Z rods 18 l~nks) 1, 199.88 feet (Deed)
North 89 degrees 57 minutes Z3 seconds West a distance of
l, 199.57 feet (measured) to a point; running thence South
00 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds and parallel with the East
line of said Quarter Section a distance of (3 rods 1Z-1/Z links)
57.75 feet to a point; running thence West (Deed) North 88
degrees 51 minutes 24 seconds West (measured) a distance
of 667. 656 feet to a point on the Easterly right-of-way line
of the Monon (Louisville, New Albany and Chicago) Railroad
as now located; running thence North 49 degrees 35 minutes
35 seconds ~ast upon and along the Easterly right-of-way of
Point of Curvature measured along a long chord subtending

A part of the North 1/2 of Section 25, Twp. 18 N~, R. 3 E~,
described as follows: Begin at a point 912.0 feet west of the
S.E. corner of the W i/2 of the N.E. 1/4 of Sec. 25, Twp.
18 N., R. 3 E., Run thence north 1051.9 feet to a point thence
west 250.0 feet to a point, thence south 1051.9 feet to inter-
section of the south line of said north 1/2, thence east on said
south line 250.0 feet to the place of beginning. Containing
6.04 A. more or less.
And the Board of Trustees of the Town of Carmel, Indiana do hereby
declare that this Special Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
from and after its adoption and passage.
