OUS TERRITORY TO THE SAID TOWN OF CARMEL, INDIANA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF CARMEL,
COUNTY OF HAMILTON, STATE OF INDIANA, THAT:
SECTION I.
WHEREAS, the Town of Carmel, Indiana, wishes to annex contigu-
ous territory to the said Town, and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of said Town being duly advised
finds that the area to be annexed is bordered on one-fourth (1/4) of
its aggregate external boundaries by the boundaries of the Town and
that the said area to be annexed is needed and can be used by the
Town for its future development in the reasonably near future; the
Board of Trustees further finds that the Town of Carmel has developed
a fiscal plan and has established a definite policy to furnish the
territory to be annexed within a period of three (3) years, govern-
mental and proprietary services substantially equivalent in standard
and scope to the governmental and proprietary services furnished by
the Town of Carmel to other areas of the Town which have character-
istics of topography, patterns of land utilization and population
density similar to the territory to be annexed.
SECTION II.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE TOWN OF CARMEL, INDIANA, that the foilowing described real
estate be and it is hereby annexed and made a part of the Town of

The South Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 8,
Township 17 North, Range 4 East, containing 80 acres,
more or less, in Hamilton County, Indiana.
Subject to all highways, right-of-ways, easements, and
restrictions of record.
SECTION III.
That immediately upon the passage of this ordinance, the Clerk-
Treasurer of the Town of Carmel, Indiana, is hereby authorized and
directed to publish a copy of this ordinance for two (2) consecutive
weeks in both the Noblesville Daily Ledger, a daily newspaper of
general circulation, and the Noblesville Times, a weekly newspaper
of general circulation, both of which are published in the City of
Noblesville, Hamilton County, Indiana; and the said Clerk-Treasurer
is hereby authorized and directed to cause the ordinance to be posted
as by law provided.
SECTION IV.
This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its passage.
Said ordinance being placed upon its passage by motion of
and ~animously adopted by the Board of Trustees of the To~ of Carmel,

On January 16, 1974 the Metropolitan DevelOpment Conunission approved
the request by the Carmel'Clay Town Board of Trustees to annex a
part of Section 7 and part o£ Section 8, both in Township 17 North,
range 4 east and in Hamilton County, Indiana {more particularly~
described in the legal description) this area extending from 106tk
Street on the north to 96th Street on the South and east of Keystone
Avenue; said annexation within four miles o£ the perimeter of the
City o£ Indianapolis.
