ANNEXATION ORDINANCE
NO. C-120

WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana,
is desirious of annexing the following described real_~s~atel;988

and, Sharon K. Cherry, Recorder, Hamilton County, IN.
WHEREAS, the following decribed real estate is contiguous by
at least one-eighth (1/8th) of its aggregate external boundaries
to the present boundary of the City of Carmel, Indiana; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Carmel, Indiana, has heretofore defined
the corporate boundaries of the City and is desirious of annexing
the following described property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of Carmel, Indiana, that the following described real estate
in Clay Township, Hamilton County, Indiana, be and hereby is
annexed to and shall hereafter be, a part of the City of Carmel,
Indiana:
Part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 7, Township
17 North, Range 4 East in Clay Township, Hamilton
County, Indiana, being all that part of the
right-of-way of 98th Street as set out in the plat of
"LAKEWOOD GARDENS" ADDITION, 2ND SECTION, AMENDED, per
the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 2, pages 206
and 207 in the Office of the Recorder of Hamilton
County, Indiana and also part of the real estate
conveyed to the State Highway Department of Indiana,
per RIGHT OF WAY GRANT recorded as Instrument 5260, in
Deed Record 167, pages 562 through 564 in the Office
of the Recorder of Hamilton County, Indiana -- the
perimeter of the combined parcels of real estate being
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the East line of the Southeast
Quarter of Section 7, Township 17 North, Range 4 East
1205.00 feet South 00 degrees 22 minutes 00 seconds
West (assumed bearing) from the Northeast corner of
said Southeast Quarter, said point being also on the
Easterly prolongation of the Northerly right-of-way
line of 98th Street as set out and dedicated in the
plat of "LAKEWOOD GARDENS" ADDITION, 2ND SECTION,
AMENDED, a subdivision in Hamilton County, Indiana,
per the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book ~, pages
dated 1969 by a RIGHT OF WAY GRANT recorded as
Instrument 5260, in Deed Record 167, pages 562 through
564 in the Office of the Recorder of Hamilton County,
Indiana, said point being located 350.00 feet Easterly
of the centerline of said Keystone Avenue; thence
South 80 degrees 02 minutes 30 seconds West on said
Southerly right-of-way line 203.03 fee% to a point on
the Easterly Limited Access Right-of-Way line of said
Keystone Avenue which is 150.00 feet Easterly of said
centerline; thence South 41 degrees 16 minutes 00
seconds West on said Limited Access Right-of-Way line
96.34 feet to a point which is 87.00 feet East of and
measured at right angles with said centerline; thence
North 00 degrees 54 minutes 15 seconds East 250.02
feet to a Southwesterly corner of Lot 988 in the
aforesaid subdivision, which is 90.00 feet East of and
measured at angles with said centerline; thence South
39 degrees 21 minutes 40 seconds East 95.12 feet plat,
93.86 fee~measured on the Southwesterly line of said
Lot and the Easterly Limited Access Right-of-Way line
of said Keystone Avenue to a point which 150.00 feet
Easterly of said centerline, said point being also a
Southwesterly corner of said Lot 988 and on the
Northerly line of the aforesaid Permanent
Right-of-Way; thence South 87 degrees 54 minutes 44
seconds East on said Northerly right-of-way line and
the prolongation thereof, being the Southerly line of
said Lot 988, a distance of 138.4 feet plat, 138.75
fee~measured to the Southeast corner of said Lot on
the West line of Lakewood Drive West; thence South 73
degrees 20 minutes 03 seconds East 52.20 feet to the
Southwest corner of Lot 963 in said subdivision, being
the intersection of the East right-of-way line of
Lakewood Drive West and the aforesaid Northerly
right-of-way line of 98th Street; thence North 89
degrees 58 minutes 00 seconds East on said Northerly
right-of-way line 17.22 feet, 159.95 feet measured to
an angle point in the Southerly line of said Lot 963;
thence South 79 degrees 23 minutes 30 seconds East on
said Northerly right-of-way line 407.27 feet plat,
406.17 feet~measured to the Southwest corner of Lot
960 in said subdivision; thence North 89 degrees 58
minutes 00 seconds East on said Northerly right-of-way
line and the Easterly prolongation thereof 484.85 fee~
to the place of beginning.
The Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, declares
that this annexation ordinance shall be in full force and effect
