WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, ~no~ana, ~s aes~rous
annexing the following described real estate, and
WHEREAS, the following described real estate is contiguous to the existing City
boundaries by at least one-eighth of its aggregate external boundaries and perimeter
borders to the present boundaries of the City of Carmel, Indiana, and
WHEREAS, the City of Carmel, Indiana has heretofore defined the corporate
boundaries of the City and is desirous of annexing the following described property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Carmel, Indiana, that the following described real estate in Hamilton County, Indiana,
owned by Duke Realty Limited Partnership, an Indiana limited partnership, be and hereby
is annexed to and shall hereafter be a part of the City of Carmel, Indiana, effective January
3, 2000, said property being more particularly described as follows:
A part of the Northwest Quarter and a part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 35,
both in Township 18 North, Range 3 East, Hamilton County, Indiana, described as
follows: BEGINNING at the northeast corner of said Northwest Quarter; said corner
being North 00 degrees 07 minutes 31 seconds West 2,621.01 feet from the
southeast corner of said quarter section; thence North 89 degrees 00 minutes 18
seconds East 16.50 feet along a southern line of the existing City of Carmel
Corporate Limits as described in Annexation Ordinance C-89, approved by the
Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana on March 5, 1984, to the 16.5-foot
east right-of-way line of Pennsylvania Street; thence South 00 degrees 07 minutes
31 seconds East 979.95 feet along said eastern right-of-way line; thence South 88 .
degrees 46 minutes 31 seconds West 890.75 feet to the west right-of-way line of
U.S. 31; thence North 00 degrees 03 minutes 57 seconds East 489.02 feet along
said west right-of-way line to the southeast corner of the existing City of Carmel
Corporate Limits as described in Annexation Ordinance C-137, approved by the
Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana on January 16, 1989 and recorded
in Instrument number 89-6024 in said Recorder's office; thence North 00 degrees
03 minutes 57 seconds West 164.36 feet along said Corporate Limits and along said
western right-of-way line of U.S. 31 and to a southern line of the existing City of
Carmel Corporate Limits as described in said Annexation Ordinance C-89; thence
north 88 degrees 59 minutes 42 seconds East 873.51 feet along said southern line
to the east line of said Northwest Quarter; thence North 00 degrees 07 minutes 31
seconds West 330.00 feet along said east line and along said Corporate Limits to
the point of beginning and containing 13.443 acres, more or less. The bearings in
this description are based upon the east line of the Northwest Quarter of Section 35
having a bearing of North 00 degrees 07 minutes 31 seconds West.

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
The undersigned (hereinafter the "Petitioner"), the Owner of the Real Estate described on .Exhibit A
attached hereto and made a part hereof, in support of this Petition for Annexation, states as follows:
1. That the Petitioner is the owner of the real estate described in Exhibit A ("Real Estate").
2. That the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana ¢Council"), by ordinance, has
defined the corporate boundaries of the City of Carmel, Indiana.
3. That more than one-eighth (1/8) of the aggregate external boundaries of the Real Estate
coincides with the corporate boundaries of the City of Carmel, Indiana.
WHEREFORE, Petitioner requests that the Council adopt an ordinance annexing the Real Estate to
the City of Carmel, Indiana.
