ANNEXATION 11.00
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana ("Common Council") is
desirous of annexing to the City of Carmel, Indiana, the real estate described on Exhibit "A" hereto
("Real Estate"); and
WHEREAS, the City of Carmel, Indiana has heretofore defined the corporate boundaries of the
City of Carmel and is now desirous of annexing the Real Estate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council that the Real Estate be,
and hereby is, annexed to and shall herea~er be a part of the City of Carmel, Indiana.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Common Council that the Real Estate is assigned to
Council District 4
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Common Council that this Annexation Ordinance No.
C-194 shall be in full force and effect sixty (60) days after its final publication pursuant to I.C. $-3-1.

Northwest Quarter of Section 34, ail in Township 18 North, Range 4 East in Clay Township,
Hamilton County, Indiana, being more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Southeast comer of said Southeast Quarter of Section 33, thence North
00 degrees 15 minutes 27 seconds East (assumed beating) along the East line of said Southeast
Quarter 394.75 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING of this description; thence continuing North 00

line of said Quarter Section; thence South 89 degrees 39 minutes 43 seconds East (assumed beating)
along said North line and along the North line of said parcel 67.50 feet to a point on the Northwest
Right-of-way line of Hazel Dell Parkway as per City of Carmel's Board of Public Works plans for
Project No. 97-02; thence South 25 degrees 20 minutes 18 seconds West along said Right-of-way
line 159.24 feet to a point on the West line of said parcel; thence North 00 degrees 15 minutes 27
seconds East along said West line 144.32 feet to the place of beginning, containing 0.112 acres, more
or less.

Petition for Annexation - Bertha Irwin
21.7 Acres, East 116~ & Hazel Dell Parkway
Dear Rebecca:
In furtherance of the annexation request of Bertha Irwin, please find enclosed a proposed
annexation ordinance C-194. I am requesting that this ordinance be placed on the October 5, 1998
agenda of the Cannel City Council for public hearing and first reading. The ordinance is being
presented to the City Council for consideration upon the favorable recommendation of the Board of
Public Works under the date of September 2, 1998. The annexation request has been reviewed by
the appropriate departments of the City of Carmel and the Superintendent of Schools, and no
Objection has been received. In addition, the Office of the City Engineer approved the legal
description and confirmed contiguity to the existing corporate boundaries. I will cause notice of the
October 5, 1998 meeting to be published, as required by the Carmel City Code, and upon receipt will
forward to you proof of publication. Please find enclosed 11 informational packets for distribution
containing the following:
