S-25 WHIC~ ORDINANCE IS ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE FIXING TEE SCHEDULE OF SEWER C}k~RGES ~.ND SE%ER CHA~GES TO SE COLLECTED BY I~E CITY OF C~uR~L, INDIANA, FROM THE OWNERS OF PROPERTY SERVED BY THE SEWAGE WORKS OF SAID CITY, AND OTHER PL~TTERS CONNECTED THEREWITH". Be it Ordained by the Co,on Council of the City of Carmel, to-wit: That Ordinance No. S-35 is herewith repealed. That Ordinance No. S-25 is herewith amended to substitute the follow- ing wording for the present wording of Section 304 of said Ordinance: Section 304: In order that residental users of sewer services shall not be penalized for the sprinkling of lawns during the months of June, July, August and September, the billing for sewer charges shall be cal- culated as follows: The total gallons used in the months of December~ January, February, ~rch and April shall he divided by five, and that same average number of gallons shall be billed for each month of June, July, August and September. These charges will generally appear, so far as normal meter reading and monthly billing cycles allow, on the customer billings of 3uly, August, September and October. Any residential customer who does not have the complete above five month average shall be billed as follows: Each meter reading book shall have an average customer usage cal- culated and that meter reading book average bill will be charged. Under either of the above billing procedures a customer shall not be billed more than his actual metered usage. Residential sewage service, as applicable to the sprinkling rate, shall apply to each lot, parcel of real estate or building which is occupied and used as a residence. Said sprinkling rates shall not apply to any premises which are partially or wholly used for industrial or commercial purposes. In the event a portion of such premises shal-1 be Wsed for commercial or industrial purposes, the owner shall have the privilege of separating the water service so that the residential portion of the premises use~ for the residential purposes wo~ld qualify sprinkled. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that all provisions of Ordinance NO. $-25 not in conflict with this amendment shall remain in full force and effect. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
