HomeMy WebLinkAboutS-46 Sewer RatesAN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CARMEL SEWER USE AND RATE ORDINANCE S-40 WHEREAS, the City of Carmel, Indiana, has established, by authority of law, its Sewer Use and Rate charges necessary to the operation of its sewage treatment plant and facilities; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of Carmel, Indiana, that certain reductions take place in the Carmel Use and Rate Ordinance S-40. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council for the City of Carmel, Indiana, that Ordinance S-40 is amended in the following respects: Section 1. Article V; Sewer Charges, Surcharges and Service Fees, is amended as follows: 5.6 Procedures When Single Meter Serves More than One User In the event two or more premises including apartments and trailers discharging wastewater into the City's sewerage system, either directly or indirectly, are consumers of water, and the quantity of water is measured by a single water meter, then in such case billing shall be for a single service in the manner set out elsewhere herein, except that the minimum bill per month shall not be less than the number of such units times $3.65. The Board may require that separate water meters be installed in any such case. 5.13 Sewer Charges 5.13.1 For the use and the service rendered by said sewerage works, volumetric sewer charges shall be in an amount deter- " minable as follows based upon the meter size installed in accor- dance with the following schedule: Monthly Base Charge Total Billing Collection User Meter Size Charge Charge Charge 5/8" .:. 3/4" $.90 $ 2.75 $ 3.65 1" .90 6.90 7.80 1 1/4" .90 11. 00 11. 90 1 1/2" .90 15.95 16.85 2" .90 27.50 28.40 3" .90 63.25 64.15 4" .90 112.75 113.65 5" .90 253.00 253.90 Plus a flow charge for each 1,000 gallons per month of $1.10 for the user charge and $.73 for debt service charge for a total rate of $1.83 per 1,000 gallons. The flat monthly sewer charge for any user who is not a metered water user shall be $11.68 for the user charge plus $5.32 for debt service for a total of $17.00 per month. 5.13.2 The Board is empowered to determine rates, charges and fees for septic tank, industrial wastes, and other disposable wastewater and wastes delivered to the wastewater treatment plant, ,as provided in Section 4.6 and to collect such charges and fees. 5.13.3 The Board is empowered to determine and to collect such charges as it may reasonably provide for under special agreements entered into by the Board, on behalf of the City, under Section 4.7. -2- Section 2. All other provisions of Ordinance No. S-40 not otherwise amended herein shall remain in full force and effect. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
