HomeMy WebLinkAboutS-38 Sewer ChargesCITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA Ordinance No.~-~ An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. S-37 entitled "An Ordinance regulating the connection to and use of public and private sewers and drains, the installation and connection of building sewers, and the discharge of waters and wastes into the sewerage system of the City of Carmel, Indiana, providing for the registration of and the metering of private wells, providing penalties for violations thereof and other matters pertaining thereto, providing for the establishment of new sewer charges, surcharges and fees for the use and service of the sewerage works, and further authorizing an industrial cost recovery system from industrial users of the City of Carmel wastewater treatment facilities WHEREAS, the Common Council now finds that present sewer charges will not ~rovide sufficient revenues to meet 1981 budget expenditures, and that an adjustment in s(~w~r charges is necessary; now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA: Section 1. That Section 5.13 of Article 5 of Ordinance No. S-37 is hereby amended to read as follows; Article V 5.13 Sewer Charges 5.13.1 For the use and the service rendered by said sewerage works, volumetric sewer charges shall be payable as hereinafter provided and shall be in an amount determinable as follows: Monthly Minimum Sewer Charge plus Monthly metered Sewer Charge $2.24 Consumption ~er Month First 5,000 gallons Next 10,000 gallons Next 10,000 gallons Next 25,000 gallons Next 50,000 gallons Total Monthly Sewer Charge per 1,000 Gallons $ 1.61 1.60 1.55 1.52 1.43 1.39 The flat monthly sewer charge for any user who is not a metered water user shall be: Adopted and passed this of the City of Carmel, Indiana.
