HomeMy WebLinkAboutS-17 Connect Fee Increase ORDINANCE S-l . la'9 An ordinance amending Ordinances S-15 and S-16 of the Town of Carmel increasing connection charges and availability charges to users of the Town's sanitary sewer facilities BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TR~USTEEs OF THE TOWN OF CARMEL, INDIANA: Sec. l: Ordinance S-15, enacted by the Town of Carmel, Indiana on March 24, 1970 and which is recorded in Book 118 at Page lZ5 in the office of the l{ecorder of Hamilton County, Indiana, be and is hereby amended in the following manner: (a) Wherever the figure "$325.00" appears in said ordinance as an "availability cost" the said amount is hereby increased to and does now read "$350. 00" and wherever Average or t~quivalent refers to $I00 the amount is hereby amended to read "SI10.00" but more particularly the following sections: (1) Sec. i of Ordinance S-15, "ACILEAGE COST" all reference to the sum of $3Z5.00 as availability cost is now increased and amended to read"$350.00". (2)! Sec. 5 of Ordi~anae S-15, "INDIVIDUAL CONNECTION OUTSIDE TOWN" all reference to the sum of $100.00 as average or "equivalent user" Connection cost for single family or otherwise is now increased and amended to read "$110.00" (3) Sec. 10 of Ordinance S-15, "INDIVIDUAL CONNECTIONS COST (DEVELOPED Ai{E.AS) subsection (a) thereof is hereby amended and does hereafter read as follows: "(a) "Availability Cost" - $8.00 per I000 sq. ft. of lot ar~ Sec. Z: Sec. 4(b) of Ordinance S-3, as amended:~by'C~rdinance S-16 on March Z4, 1970, which appears in Book 118 at page 134 in the office of the l~ecorder of Hamilton County, Indiana, more particularly Sec. 4(b) (1) of Ordinance S-16 be and is hereby amended in the following manner: (1) 4(b) (1): Where an individual connection is sought within the corporate lir~its of the Town of Carmel, the following sewer users, listed by types of occupancy, shall pay a CONNECTION CHAi{GE based on an "average user" factor of (1). The average or '~equivalent" user connection cost for a single family residence is hereby fixed and established at One Hundred Ten Dollars ($110.00). The units listed below will presently pay for a connection cost based on the multiplication of the listed decimal times $110.00. The equivalent user cost of $110.00 may, from time to time, be updated and changed by the Town. All other and remaining portions of Sec. 4(b) (1) of Ordinance S-16 shall remain unchanged. Sec. 4(b) (II) of Ordinance S-16 be and is hereby amended in the following manner: 4(b) (II): In the event the owner of real estate who desires to connect with the Town sewer system is located in an already developed area, in addition to the connection cost designated in paragraph (4) (b) (1), as amended, there shall be added to each 'individual connection cost an amount which shall be comput.ed~ as',~011ows: "Availability Cost"' - $8~00 per 1000 gqv ft. of lot or fraction thereof. If the owner of real estate who desires to connect with the Town sewer system is located in undeveloped acreage, then and in that event the additional charge shall not be based on the above square footage calculation but shall be computed as follows: "Availiability Cost" - Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($~50.00) per acre of ground to be served by the particular connection to the Town Interceptor and/or trunk sewer system. This ordinance shall be in £ull force and effect from and after it's passage. ADOPTED AND PASSED THIS DAY OF JUNE, 1971 by THE BOAteD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF CARMEL, INDIANA.
