BPW-04-20-76 MINUTES 0~ T~ BOAP~ OF PUBLIC WORKS APRIL 20, 1976 The regula~ meetiD~ of the Board of Public Works was c~lled to order at 4:00 p.m. by Mayor Albert Pickett, who presided. All members were present. Newark Village Additions: Bids for construction of approximately 2,400 ft. of storm sewers and the reconstruction of approximately 900 ft. of bituminous pavement 22 ft. in width ~ud appurtenance in the Newark Village addition were opened by City Attorney as follows: Bidder Amount Avco Const. Mosquitoes: Board discussed the feasibility of spra~ving for mosquitoes. Mr. Hohl to check with the County health officer for further information. Vacation of Alley: Mr. Kern moved to agree to the entry of vacating the alley which Indian~ Mills h~s filed a petition for vacation in the west line of 2nd Ave. SW 132 ft. South of the South line of Main Street in IRA Mendenhall's addition to Carmel ~s re- corded in Deed Record 23, p~ge 81, Mr. Hohl seconded it and it passed Lu~animously. High School Expansion: Curb Moving: Mr. Kern moved to allow design chauges in the street on the north side of ~234 from 4th Street NE to existing main entrance of High School purstu~ut to plans presented by the Carmel Clay schools subject to recommendations of City Engineer for certain minor ch~es Mr. Hohl seconded it and it passed unanimously. Water Tower Inspection: Mr. Dougherty, Utilities Manager, stated he had obtained two quotes for inspection of the water tower, one was from Penwall for $875,00, the other from Universal Tsm~k for $400.00. Mr. Dougherty recommended Universal Tank and also recommended hiring a commercial photographer to take some pictures of the inside of the tower @ $9.00 each. Mr. Kern moved that the quote of $400.00 for inspection of the water tower from Universal T~uk be accepted and a commercial photographer be contracted to make reasonably few photographs of theinside of the tower for $9.00 each, Mr. Hohl seconded it and it passed unanimously.
