The meetiD~ of the Board of Public Works was called to order at 3:05 PM by
M~yor Pickett, who presided. All members were present.
E. H. HUGHES: N~. Phil Nicely, attorney for E. H. Hughes was present and
presented a letter summarizim~ the conclusions and agreements reached at the
meeting September 13th. M~. Kern moved to reduce the retain~ge ~o $32,300.00
and approve the wording of the letter subject to adding the following wording
to item#l: "if some of the meter or instrumentation equipment is incompatible
with other meter or instrumentation equipment then Wetterlin Engineering Sales
will correct such problem," Mr. Hohl seconded it and it passed unanimously.

ll6th ST. AND GUIL~0KD ST~EWALK CONSTRUCTION: Mr. Hohl moved to award the bid
received at the September 13th meetim~ for 1]"6th Street and Guilford Avenue
sidewalk construction to Kenneth Smock Excavating. Mr. Hohl to prepare letter
listing items to be deleted. Letter to become part of the contract. Mr. Kern
seconded it and it passed unanimously.
B~TONAL WASTE DISTRICT: Mr. Kern stated Mr. Wilfo~ had advised him last
~eek that he and Westf~'eld were now ready to sign the regional agreement.
Mr. George C~vit to prepare an agreement.
CHANGE 0~n~R - WATER TRANSMISSION LII~E.: This item was tabled.
INDIANAPOLIS W~ER COMPANY SEWER CONNECTION: Mr. Hohl stated Indianapolis
Water Co. has submitted final plans and speolfications to us for the proposed
connections to the south treatment plant and we have computed the connection
charges and availability charges for the grounds and computed the industrial
cost recovery and sur-cha~ges accordiD~ to our ordinance s. Mr. Hohl moved
to approve the connection of the water treatment plant the Gray Road Station
of Indianapolis Water Co. to Carmel sanitary sewers, Mr. Kern seconded it and
it passed unanimously.
ADVm. M~ISEFOR BIDS FOR GASOLINE: M~yor Pickett stated we should approve the
intent to advertise for bids for g~soline. Mr. Kern moved to authorize
advertising for bids for bulk gasoline and police car unleaded gasoline
pLtrchases at service stations, Mr. Hohl seconded it and it passed unanimously.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 4:35 PM.
