BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
May 16, 1978
The meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to order at 3 PM by
Mayor Pickett, who presided. Mr. Hohl was present. Mr. Kern was not present.
WATER SERVICE - JOHN HENSEL: Mr. Hohl moved to waive the water connection charge\
and install the meter pit and approximately 300 feet of inch copper line for ,
water service for John Hensel in return for an easement for installation of water /
main on 106th Street between the fire station property smd the west boundary
of the Woodlands subdivision subject to City Attorney's approval as to legality,/~~
Mayor Pickett seconded it and it passed unanimously.
W00I~TRT~ ACRES - BOB LANGSTON: Mr. Hohl moved to approve connection of sanitm~y
sewer for Woodfleld Acres subject to that connection being made at a point
where there is sufficient capacity in the line to carry it south to 126th Street,
Mayor Pickett seconded it and it passed unanimously.
INSPECTION SERVICES FOR PAINTING STORAGE TANK: Mr. Hohl stated he obtained two
quotes to engage a firm to do inspections of paintingwater storage tank;
Atec Associate, Indianapolis, and H.C. Nutting Co. of Ohio. Mr. Hohl moved to
accept the Atec quote, due to saviD~~s in travel time, and that we figure on
about $2,000 as the extent of the expenditure subject to the appropriation of
funds by City Council, Mayor Pickett seconded it and it passed unanimously.
APPROVAL OF 1~7~ MERCURY - POLICE DEPARTMENT: Mayor Pickett moved to approve
claim for $2,000 to purchase a 1973 Mercury Monterey with 8~00 actual miles on
it for use by the Police Department, Mr. Hohl seconded it and it passed unanimously.
ENGIN-~.wTNG FORHUNTER C~k~V~T,t~GE WATER LINE: THOMPSONPROPERTY: Mr. Hohl
read letter from Clyde E. Williams & Asso., as attached to the minutes. Mr. Hohl
moved to accept the proposed engineering agreement with the principal that the
City will pay for Part I as a part of its master planning and Thompson to pay
for Part II of the agreement design. Said agreement to be signed upon receipt
of a letter of ~greement from Schutz & Thompson agreeing to pay their part and
subject to apprepriation of necessary funds by the City Council, Mayor Pickett
seconded it and it passed unanimously.

and street reconstruction of Newark village as followe~
