The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to order at 3 PM
by M~yor Pickett, who presided. All members except Mr. Kern, who arrived at
3:1~ PM were present.
Mr. Hohl moved to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting, M~yor
Pickett seconded it and it passed unanimously.

do necessary work to calculate the increase necessitated by rising operations
cost as well as the user charge associated with the federal grants in regard
to the sewer system. Mr. Hohl moved that recon~mendatlon be followed and that
McCullough & Associates be authorized to do the necessary work to calculate
the preliminary user charges due to the regional sewer plan and any increases
necessitated in rates by rising operation costs, Mayor Pickett seconded it
and it passed Um~uimously.

& Associates, be-~uthorized to proceed with the necessary environmental
statement for the force main under Woodland Springs Lake subject to the
Mayor approving the fee schedule for this work and to authorize the Mayor to
execute these ~greements, Mayor Pickett seconded it and it passed unanimously.

gutters and street signs for $2~,000.00, Mayor Pickett seconded it and it
passed unanimously.
UNIVE_.RM~L TANK- PAIIITING OF WATER TOWER: Mr. Hohl stated he would like the
record to show the bid for Universal T~was confirmed. He stated the
contractors were requested to furnish a price for Wallace and Tiernan
Cathodic protection system. Universal Tank had submitted a quote of $~,~00.00
as opposed to $6,823.® for the Earco protection in the bid. Mr. Hahl stated
he would move to use the Wallace and Tiernan system, Mr. Kern seconded it and
it passed unanimously.
COOL CRW~fNORTH SECTION ~ & 8 - SIDEWALK LOCATION: Mr. Larry Dawson appea~ed
before the Boand to discuss Section h & 8 of Cool Creek North. He stated they
come off Ironwood on Smokey Row Lane where they had some sidewalks which are
within the easement. The people putting them in missed it to start with and
just kept continuing on. They have four lots on each side of Smokey Row Lane.
The sidewalks are about three feet closer to the curb then where they should
be. After the four lots they curved them back where they should be. They
also have some other intersections in the same section on Hawthorne Drive
where for a couple of reasons they curved the walk so kids, when they rode
their bikes, could go all the way around. Mr. Dawson asked what they should
do about the corners where they have 6" fenceposts. This is on Second Way.
Mr. Hohl suggested he contact the property owner and offer to re-set the posts
amd explain what he is doing and also point out to them that they have the
posts setting in the street right-of-way and the City 6ould require them to

be removed at their expense, however, if they will co-operate with him and
help move the posts there will not be a problem. Mr. Hohl moved that the
Boa~rd of Public Works accept the sidewalks and that it be made a matter of
record that the developer has been advised by the Boa~rd of Works that any
future errors of this type won't ~ ccep
and furthermore, that the corners
at the intersections be provided ~ ~e
~t, a m~nzmum of 4 feet of sidewalk at all
points around the radius, Mr. Eern seconded it and it passed 2-0. Mr. Eern
abstaining.
B~ZD OPENING - STREET RESURFACZNGMAT~.~T&f.: Bids for street resurfacing
materials were opened as attached to minutes. Mr. Hohl to make recommendation
Wednesday at 4:30 PM. Mr. Hohl stated he has experienced a contractor not
being able to produce the materials he had promised and wondered if we could
award a bid to a second contractor in Case this happens. Mr. Eern stated he
didn't believe we could accept two bids, unless we knew the exact amount of
each. We couldn't accept duplicate bids.
MOHAWE CROSSZNG - WATER CONNECTZON: Mr. A1 Oak appeared before the Boa~rd to
discuss the projected 176 lots called Mohawk Crossing. He requested approval
for water connection for the individual homes &nd fire protection. Mr. Hohl
moved these people be given permission by the Board of Works to connect to
our water system when the capacity is available based on the City Council's
commitment to expand our water system, Mr. Kern seconded it. After a discussion,
Mr. Hohl stated he would like to withdraw his original motion,*Mr. Kern with-
drew his second, and then he moved that we ~i~e tentative approval for
C~ricked Eno21 and Moh___awk Crossin~ for extension of water and that the Board of
Works does: not gua~rantee a specific time in which sufficient water supply will
be available to handle the entire preliminary platted application, however,
the Board of Works will approve extension of water to individual sections as
they are final platted and will guarantee those numbers of connections as
those approvals are made, Mr. Kern seconded it and it passed unanimously.
Meeting was recessed at ~:.18 PM.
Meeting was re-convened at 4:~0 PM, Wednesday, April 26th.
Mr. Hohl moved to approve the bid of Hamilton County Asphalt for street
re~urfaci~materials as received April 2~th, Mr. Kern seconded it and it passed
unanimously.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at ~:31 PM.
