CITY COUNCIL

The special meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mmyor Pickett
who presided. All members, Clerk-Treasurer, Fred Hohl and Jim Dougherty were
present.
The Downtown Water Treatment Plant was discussed. Mayor Pickett reviewed the
problem as per letters he had sent to the Council and attached to the minutes.
Bids had been received for the work at the Board of Public Works meetiD~,
Tuesday~and needed Council approval before accepting the low bid.
Councilmembers felt we should not expend that amount of money (approx. $200,000)
unless we took all avenues ~o prevent it.
Councilman Garretson moved the Council express its recommendation to the
Board of Public Works that the City take whatever legal measures necessary to
stop the imposition of any fines by the Stream Pollution Control Board,
Councilwoman Reiman seconded it and it passed unanimously.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at §:15 PM.
