BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
January 23, 1979
The meeti~ of the Board of Public Works was called to order at 3:17 PM by
Mr. Kern in the absence of Mayor Pickett. Fred Hohl and Assistant to Clerk-Treasurer
were present.
Mr. Hohl moved to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting, Mr. Kern
seconded it ~nd it passed tmanimously.
BID OPENING POLICE CARS: Mr. Kern opened bid from FoxworthyFord. There was no
bid bond or bid check - not submitted properly. Next bid was from Bud Wolf Chevrolet
and was submitted properly. Bids were forwarded to Police Comm~esioners for
a recommendation. Mr. Kern stated if the bids were not acceptable they could
advertise for bids again.
CONSULTANT DESIGN A~,:~:~(ENT 126th ST EXTENSION FROMRANGELINE RD TO US 31:
Fred Hohl read cover letter for agreement. Agreement did not have to be signed
by the Board but they did need to sign the cover letter (attached to original
minutes). Mr. Hohl moved to forward two copies of the agreement and cover letter
to the state, Mr. Kern seconded it and it passed unanimously.
DISCUSS INCR~ CONTR_iBUTION TO AID IN CONSTRUCTION OF WATER DEPARTMENT BY 7~
PER MCCULLOUGH - APRIL 20t 1~8: Fred Hohl reviewed McCullough's pro~ection of
source and application of ftmds through 1995 for financing the water utility and
the expansions. Mr. Hohl made the motion that the recommendation be forwarded
to the Council that the contribution aid to construction of 7%presented by
McCullough & Associates be approved, Mr. Kern seconded it and it passed unanimously.
Mr. Hohl requested a copy of Ordinance #A-~l be forwarded to Mr. Kern.
REQUEST DISC~Rr.~ INDUSTRTAT. WASTE TO ~6th ST PLANT BY TECHNOSOLVE~INC: This
item was tabled.
CA]~LE TV: This item was tabled.
CONTRACT WITH THE DRYN CORP.: Fred Hohl reviewed contract. Mr. Hohl m~de a motion
to approve contract subject to forwardiD~ the contract back to Dryn Corp for them
to attach Exhibit A and have them sign it, Mr. Ke~n seconded it and it passed
unanimously.
C~B SERVICE: Mr. Kern requested the Clerk-Treasurer seek an ordinance pertaining
to taxi service or a franchise with Red Cab and send him a copy.
GASOLINE PUMP RECORDS: Mr. Hohl stated due to a non-working pump the records
were in error and have been corrected.
ADDED IT~i: BOND RELEASES: Mr. Hohl moved to release the following bonds:
Brookshire Village Sec 2 - Watermains-$26,5~0.O0; Storm Sewers-$20,700.O0;
Sani t s~y Sewers-S29,700.00
Brookshire Pines -Watermains & Hydrants-$~0,500.00; Storm d~ains-$25,000.O0
Mr. Ke~su~ded it and it passed unanimously. .
