DECEMBER 19, 1979
The meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to order at 2:10 p.m. by Mayor
Pickett, who presided. Clerk-Treasurer and Mr. Hohl were present also.
klleF Vacation: Mr. John Kyle, Jr. appea~ed before the Boa~dfor final hea~ing for
v~cation of a portion of a~ alley located between lots 210 and 220 First Avenue
Northwest and runni~ from First Avenue Northwest to Second Aven~e Northwest. Mr.
Kyle represented M~. and Mrs. Leslie M. Hedges. Mr. Hohl moved that the Board of
Works approve the petitioners request for vacation of the alley located at the above
addre~ subject to the City Engineer verifying to the Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer that
he has double checked the portion from the west property line of the Hedges property
to the Second Avenue. Mayor Pickett seconded it and it passed unardmously.
Carmel Traffic Stud~v: Mayor Pickett and Mr. Hohl reviewed the final draft of the
Carmel Traffic Study which was financed by a federal grant. Mr. Nohl moved to accept
the report and request that payment be made subject to receiving the state funds.
Mayor Pickett seconded it and it passed unanimously. Mr. G~ry Wortman, representing
the state, was present and thanked the administration and all city officials who
helped with the content of the report.
Water Service - Ken Thompson: ~. Hehl moved that the records show that Schutz and
Thompson had been given approval to connect to the Carmel water system approximately
300 connections on Gray Road on the former Foster property south of Smokey Row Road,
Mayor Pickett seconded it and it passed unanimously.
Proposed Street Plan - Fineberg: Mr. Hohl moved that the proposed plans for the roads
for the Carmel Executive Plaza be approved and the City of Carmel agree to accept.~
this road upon sucessful completion of construction in accordance with the plans
and posting of a three year maintenance bond at time of acceptance.
