SEPTEMBER 25, 1979
The regula~meetingof the Board of Public Works was called to order at 3:10 p.m.
by N~yor Pickett who presided. All members and Clerk-TreastLrer were present.
Mr. HotL1 moved to approve the minutes of the last meeti~~s' Mr. Knowles seconded
it and it passed unanimously.
Meter Reader Snow Suit~: M~yor Pickett stated he wanted to bring before the Board
for discuSsiOn a pturch~se order request for snow suits for the meter readers.
After a discussion, Mr- Knowles moved the city buy the insulated suits for the
meter readers, N~. Hohl seconded it and it passed unanimously.
Contract for H~ulin~ Sewage From Westfield Estate~.: Tabled.
~igestor Cles-~n~ at South Plant: Utilities ~r, Jim Dougherty, presented
three quotes for digestor cleaZ~i~at the south plant as follows,
Seastrom, Inc.- .................. - ....... $2,500.00
Commercial S~er Cleaning Co., inc.-------3,300.00
Deeds Equipment Co.- ._~---3,120.00
Mr. Enowles moved that the quote of Seastrom, Inc. for remoVe! of the contents of
the digestor, on the recommendation of Mr. Dougherty, be approved. Mr. Nohl seconded
it and it p~ssedunanimouslY.
Cool Creek North Bond Release~: Nv. Hohl moved the foll6wingbond releases be approved
subject to fili~4~ofm~intenance bonds:
Gool C~eek North Sec. 14-Watermains and Hydrants in the amount of $20,000.00.
StreetS Excluding Blacktop in the amount of $16,000.00.
Cool Creek North Section 8-Sidewalks in the amount of $7,000.00
Cool Creek North Section 12-Waterm~ins and Hydrants in the amount of $22,000.00.
Streets excludi~Blacktop'in the amount of $28,~00.00.
Mr. Knowles seconded it and it passed unanimously.
Cool Creek North Sewer Expansion: Mr. Laz~yI~wson appea~ed before the Board and
stated he would like the record to show that he is requesting sewer service for
up to ~ 60 lots for single family dwellings. This is property which joins Cool
Creek North. M~yor Pickett stated we were not in a position to do a~ythi~ about
this. Mr. Hohl reqUested Langston's request be put back on the sewer request list
as well as Mr. I~wson's.
Water N~.~n Oversizin~Refund: Mr. L~z~yDewson inquired of the status of their
water m~in oversizing refund. Mr. Hohl stated it was fairly high on the priority
list but had not yet been resolved.
North plant Motor Speed Control: Utilities ~r explained the need for a motor
speed control at the north pla~lb. Mr. Hohl moved thztMr. Dougherty's proposal be
accepted, Mr. Knowles seconded it and it passed unanimouslY.

Works Grant, C~8062301 and muthorizmtion amd notice to proceed, sewer collection
system rehabilitation, Step 2 Tremtment Works Grant, C18062302. Mr. Nohl moved
to approve proposals, Mr. Kuowles seconded it and it passed unanimously.
~dicmtion of Ee~stone Wa~ and Medicml Drive: M~yor Pickett stated he didn't
believe we were ready to act on this. Mr. Enowles stated M~yor Pickett h~d given
him some documents to review amd mfter reviewi~ them he didn,t feel it was
adv~utmgeous to the City of Cs~mel to sign the dedication ms presented. Mr. Nohl
moved that the entire discussion of mcceptance of Neystone Wmy and Medicml Drive
be tmbled indefinitly until such time ms mll problems and considermtions h~ve been
clea~ed up. Mr. Enewles seconded it and it pmssed ~ously. Mr~ Enowles stmted
he would like to state for the record that he h~d m copy of the City Council minutes
and remd the p~rt of the minutes reflecting the motion pmssed by the council ~nd
he would like for this record to reflect that a~yaction he took tod~y is in no way
an mttempt to respond to Or-comply with the request of the City Council becmuse
the Bomrd of Works does not t~ke orders from the City Council.
North Plant Roof Repairs: Tmbled.~
South Plant Grit Pump Replanement Mr. De~herty explained the need for replmcement
of south plant grit pump. He stmted he wms in the process of getti~quotes for
the job.
