SPECIAL BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
April 20, 1979
The special meetin~ of the Board of Public Works was called to order at 9:10 AM
by Mayor Pickett, who presided. Mr. Hohl and Clerk-Treasurer were present.
Mr. Kuowles was not present.
MEDICAL INSURANCE: Mayor Pickett stated he was not able to get in contact with
everyone so will hold this item up until next Tuesday, April 2~th, 3 PM at the
regular meeting.
SIGNING PLAT FOR W00DFIELD ACRES: Mr. Bob Langston appeared before the Board
with the plat for Woodfield Acres. Mr. Hohl moved the Board of Works approve
plat of Woodfield'~cres, Section I, Mayor Pickett seconded it and it passed
unanimously.
AWARD BID ON TRUCK FOR STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Hohl stated Don Hinds Ford bid
was the lowest bid received. Mr. Hohl moved the bid from Don Hinds Ford for
$13,277.~0 be accepted and that this will include base bid of $11,820.8~,
~9~V eD&ine and alternatives including 12,000 lb. front spri~s, 50 gal fuel
tank, and extended intregal front frame for $256.~5 totali~ $13,277.~0, Mayor
Pickett seconded it and it passed unanimously. The year of truck is unspecified
and might be 1979 or 1980 and the price is guaranteed.
CONTRACT FOR TRAFFIC SURVEY: Mayor Pickett presented a contract for services
from Research and Planni~Associates, Inc. There is no cash input by the City,
its a matter of in-kind services. This service will be completed by Sept. 30, 1979.
The grant was in the amount of $2~,000.00 which is provided by the federal
government. Mr. Hohl made a motion to approve this contract with Research and
Planning Associates, Inc. Mr. Hohl stated the in-kind services at this point in
time are somewhat vague and therefore, if these in-kind services become major we
may have some personnel problems. Mayor Pickett seconded the motion and it
passed unanimously.
