OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
NOVEMBER 17, 1980
The special meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to
order by Mayor Reiman at 4:30 P.M. on November 17, 1980. Board
members Fred Swift and Billy Walker were present. Also present
was City Attorney, Mike Howard and Clerk-Treasurer.
Acceptance of Ambulance Bid - The Mayor read a letter from Chief
Swails stating the committee had reviewed all bids and the low
bidder did not meet the specifications in three areas. Therefore,
the Committee recommended the acceptance of the bid of F&S Sales.
Mr. Ries of Ries Equipment stated that although his bid varied
from the specifications, the fact that he listed no exceptions on
the bid form meant he would supply the ambulance according to
City specifications. Attorney Howard stated the bid should have
stated the exceptions and explanation could not be made at a
later date. Mr. Walker made a motion to accept the bid of F&S
Sales as recommended by the Committee. Motion seconded by Mr.
Swift and passed unanimously.
Acceptance of Radio Bid - Mayor Reiman read a letter from Chief
Swails stating the Committee recommended the acceptance of the
Motorola bid. Mr. Walker made a motion to accept the bid of
Motorola in the amount of $2754.50 for the ambulance radio.
Motion seconded by Mr. Swift and passed unanimously.
Mayor Reiman stated that the successful bidders would be required
to specify in writing the time of delivery.
Mr. E. Davis Coots, Chairman of the Paramedic Committee stated
the lease agreement between Riverview and the City had been
prepared. He also stated Riverview had agreed to pay for
everything mentioned in Chief Swail's letter of November 5th. The
Board stated that the Hospital Board of Trustees should sign
first.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, the
same was duly adjourned at 7:25 P.M.
