OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 30, 1980
A special meeti ng of the Common Counci 1 of the City of Carmel was
called to order at 5:35 P.M. on September 30, 1980, by Mayor Reiman.
Council members Kerr, Garretson, Johnson, Fleming, McMullen and
Shepherd were present as was the Clerk-Treasurer.
Mr. Garretson made a motion to introduce Resolution 1-93080. Mr.
Johnson seconded the motion and Mayor Reiman read the proposed
resolution. The Clerk-Treasurer explained the need for the temporary
loan between funds referring to a memo she had sent to the Council
members when the special meeting was called. Vote was taken on
Resolution 1-93080 which passed by unanimous vote of those present.
Mr. Garretson made a motion to add discussion on the possibility of
erecting a building on the back parking lot to the agenda. Mr. Johnson
seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Discussion ensued with
Mr. Garretson stating that he and Mr. Johnson had looked into the
possibility of erecting a building on the back parking lot to alleviate
the problem of not having adequate space for offices or meeting room to
hold enough people. Mr. Johnson suggested that perhaps the Board of
Public Works should advertise a design and build bid for such a
building and that Mayor Reiman should contact the City Attorney to see
what specifications must be met. Mrs. Kerr pointed out that there might
be a problem with parking but it was the consensus of the Council that
the Board of Public Works should proceed with advertising for a design
and build bid.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, the same
was duly adjourned at 6:00 P.M.
