BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS MEETING
OCTOBER 19, 1981
The special meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to
order by Mayor Reiman at 4:30 P.M. on October 19, 1981. Board
members Fred Swift and Billy Walker were present as was the
Clerk-Treasurer.
Mr. Walker requested that Mayor Reiman ask representatives from
Shumaker Brothers and Berns Construction to attend the next
regularly meeting of the Board to give an update on the Rangeline
Road Project.
Mr. Silvey from HNTB stated he had the construction contracts and
authorization to proceed documents ready for signature pertaining
to the North-South Interceptor and the Equalization Basin and
recommended the City enter into said contracts. Mr. Silvey
introduced the following people in attendance: Jim Russell, HNTB;
John Broker from Evans Construction; Ray Sturm, Gibson &
Associates; Chuck Norman, Eagle Valley Construction; Judy
Cleveland, HNTB, Project engineer for equalization basin; Carl
Waite, HNTB, project engineer for the interceptor; Joe Blevins,
Fink, Roberts & Petrie; Ed Gibson, Gibson & Associates; Joe
Hanley, Thompson Construction and Gary Browning, Thompson
Construction.
Mr. Walker made a motion to enter into the contract with Evans
Construction for Division I - Equalization Basin. Motion seconded
by Mr. Swift and passed unanimously. Mr. Walker made a motion to
enter into the contracts with Eagle Valley for Part A of Division
II - the North-South Interceptor and with Thompson Construction
for Part B of Division II - the North-South Interceptor. Motion
seconded by Mr. Swift and passed unanimously.
All contracts were signed and the meeting adjourned at 5:15 P.M.
A preconstruction conference followed the meeting.
