HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCM-09-01-81MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 1, 1981 Mayor Reiman called a special meeting of the Council to order at 7:05 P.M. on September 1, 1981 with Council members Shepherd, Fleming, McMullen, Garretson Kerr and Walker present. Also present were City Attorney, John Pearce, Don Silvey from HNTB, Don McCullough and Clerk- Treasurer. Mayor Reiman explained that there had been no bids received on the sewer revenue bonds and it was necessary for the Council to consider raising the interest rates on the bonds. Mr. Garretson stated he felt 152% was too high and thought we should ask for an extension on the EPA grant and wait. Mr. Silvey and Mr. McCullough answered questions from the Council members. Mr. Shepherd made a motion to introduce Ordinance S-41 amending Ordinance S-39 to raise the interest rate to 151%. Motion seconded by Mr. Fleming. Following further discussion, Mr. Walker made a motion to suspend the rules and act on Ordinance SP41 tonight. Motion seconded by Mr. Shepherd and passed unanimously. Vote was taken on Ordinance S-41 which passed 4-2, Councilors Kerr and Garretson voting nay. There being no further business to come before the meeting, the same was duly adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
