CITY COUNCIL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 1, 1981
Mayor Reiman called a special meeting of the Council to order at 7:05
P.M. on September 1, 1981 with Council members Shepherd, Fleming,
McMullen, Garretson Kerr and Walker present. Also present were City
Attorney, John Pearce, Don Silvey from HNTB, Don McCullough and Clerk-
Treasurer.
Mayor Reiman explained that there had been no bids received on the
sewer revenue bonds and it was necessary for the Council to consider
raising the interest rates on the bonds. Mr. Garretson stated he felt
152% was too high and thought we should ask for an extension on the EPA
grant and wait.
Mr. Silvey and Mr. McCullough answered questions from the Council
members.
Mr. Shepherd made a motion to introduce Ordinance S-41 amending
Ordinance S-39 to raise the interest rate to 151%. Motion seconded by
Mr. Fleming.
Following further discussion, Mr. Walker made a motion to suspend the
rules and act on Ordinance SP41 tonight. Motion seconded by Mr.
Shepherd and passed unanimously. Vote was taken on Ordinance S-41 which
passed 4-2, Councilors Kerr and Garretson voting nay.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, the same
