HomeMy WebLinkAboutBPW-01-07-81MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS JANUARY 7, 1981 The meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to order by Mayor Reiman at 4:30 P.M. on January 7, 1981. Board member Fred Swift was present. Also present was City Attorney, John Pearce and Clerk-Treasurer. Mr. Swift made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of December 17th and the special meeting of December 23, 1980. Motion seconded by Mayor Reiman and passed unanimously. Old Business Rangeline Road - Mayor Reiman presented a letter from the Indiana State Highway Commission regarding the payment of 90% of the City share of the Rangeline Road project. A claim in the amount of $536,704.41 was attached Mr. Swift made a motion to allow the claim in the amount of $536,704.41 for 90% of the City share of the Rangeline Road project to be paid upon receipt of the bond issue funds. Motion seconded by Mayor Reiman and passed unanimously. Brookshire Holding Tank - Mayor Reiman referred to a letter from Mr. Al Hughey concerning the permit fees to be charged in connection with the holding tank. The letter states that the surcharge will be $410.00 per hook-up. New Business Bid Opening - Computer for Clerk-Treasurer's Office - There was only one bid on the computer for the Clerk-Treasurer's office, that being from NCR in the amount of $58,226.90. Discussion ensued concerning the possibility of combining computer service to the police department and the Clerk-Treasurer's office. The Clerk-Treasurer stated that she and the Police Chief had been pursuing that thought and that by the time the request for additional appropri ations went to the Council, they would be able to say whether or not it will work and what the costs would be to implement such a proqram. Mr. Swift made a motion to recommend to the Council the appropriation of sufficient funds for the computer system presently under consideration for use by the Police Department and the Clerk-Treasurer's office. Motion seconded by Mayor Reiman and passed unanimously. There being no further business to come before the meetinq, the same was duly adjourned at 5:10 P.M. APPROVED: Jane A.
