BPW 01-05-22-04 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, APPROVING THE TRANSFER AND PRESENTATION OF PISTOL AND BADGE WHEREAS, pursuant to IC 5-22-22-6, the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Carmel, Indiana (“Board”), may transfer to another certain personal property; and WHEREAS, Major David C. Strong has provided over 35 years of meritorious service to the Carmel community as a Carmel City Police Officer, and will be retiring on January 30, 2022; and WHEREAS, it has been a long-standing policy and practice of the Carmel Police Department to present to each of its sworn officers, upon retirement, their badge and firearm. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board, as follows: Section 1. The foregoing Recitals are incorporated herein by this reference. Section 2. The following items may be transferred and presented to Major David C. Strong upon his retirement, at the direction of the Chief of Police: Major Strong’sService Weapon, Glock Model 17, 9 mm Pistol and Carmel Police Department Badge/marked “Retired.” SO RESOLVED.
