SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
JULY 27, 1983
Mayor Reiman called the special meeting Or the Council to order at 6:00
P.M. on July 27, 1983 with Council Members Johnson, Fleming, Garretson,
McMullen and Walker present. Also present was Clerk-Treasurer, Dottie
Hancock.
Mr. Garretson made a motion to introduce Ordinances D-378, D-379, and
D-380 salary ordinances for 1984 salaries. Motion seconded by Mrs.
McMullen. Mayor Reiman stated the ordinances had been prepared
according to the vote of the Council at their meeting on July 20, 1983.
Mr. Garretson questioned whether the gap between propationary firemen
and policemen and the first year officers should be narrowed. Chief
Couts and Chief Lowe stated they felt the probationary pay was
sufficient.
Mr. Johnson announced that the insurance committee had made a decision
on the health insurance this evening and would make a recommendation to
the Mayor and Board of Works.
Clerk-Treasurer, Dottie Hancock, stated that if she could get the
budget advertised on the 4th of August, the Council could hold the
public hearing on the regular meeting of August 15th. If the Council
wanted to change the meeting that fell on Labor Day to August 29th, the
Council could adopt the budget at that time. Mr. Garretson made a
motion to cancel the September 5th meeting and move the meeting to
August 29th. Motion seconded by Mr. Walker and passed unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, the same
was duly adjourned at 6:25 P.M.
