HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCM-07-30-84 MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING JULY 30, 1984 The meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Reiman at 7:00 P.M. on July 30, 1984. Council members Badger, McMullen, Doane, Johnson, Garretson, Fleming and Solaro were present. Also present was Clerk-Treasurer Hancock. Invocation was given by Miss Doane followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. 1985 Budgets - Clerk-Treasurer Hancock stated that after compiling all forms and figures, it appeared the City would have the needed funds for the 1985 budget as tentatively approved. Mrs. Hancock also stated that budget packets would be delivered to the Council prior to the public hearing advertised for August 13th. Salary Ordinances D-409, D-410, D-411 - Clerk-Treasurer Hancock stated that the salary ordinances had been prepared according to the 8% increase and the new scale for the police and fire departments. Mrs. McMullen made a motion to introduce Ordinance D- 409, D-410 and D-411. Motion seconded by Mr. Fleming. Mrs. McMullen made a motion to suspend the rules and act on Ordinance D-409, D- 410 and D-411 this evening. Motion was seconded by Mr. Johnson and passed unanimously. Vote was taken on Ordinance D-40C, Salary Ordinance for 1985 Salaries, which passed unanimously. Vote was taken on Ordinance D-410, Salary Ordinance for 1985 Salaries for Carmel Police Department which passed unanimously. Vote was taken on Ordinance D-411, Salary Ordinance for 1985 salaries for Fire Department, which passed unanimously. Other Business - Council President, Ted Johnson, appointed a committee to select an architect for the proposed new fire station. That committee shall be comprised of Mr. Johnson, Mr. Garretson and Mr. Fleming. Mr. Johnson also requested that Mr. Badger and Mr. Solaro review the Cumulative Development Fund which may be adopted under the new Local Option Law and make a recommendation to the Council on adoption of same. Mr. Johnson requested a report from the Revenue Sharing Committee at the next Council meeting. Chief Lowe thanked the Mayor, Clerk-Treasurer and Council for a smooth budget process. There being no further business to come before the meeting, the same was duly adjourned at 7:10 P.M. APPROVED: ATTEST
