OCTOBER 14, 1985
The Special meeting of the Carmel City Council was called to order
by Mayor Reiman at 6:00 P.M. on October 14, 1985. Council members
Miller, McMullen, Doane, Johnson, Fleming and Badger were present,
as was City Attorney Andrews and Clerk-Treasurer Hancock.
Invocation was given by Miss Doane followed by the Pledge of
Allegiance.
New Business
Mayor Reiman requested permission from the Council to add Omega
Cable TV and any other cable TV company present to be added to the
agenda. The Council unanimously agreed to such addition.
Informational Presentation by Indianapolis Cablevision Inc. - Mr.
Joe Dawson, President of Indpls. Cablevision, appeared before the
Council giving a background of Indpls. Cable vision. Mr. Don Cripe,
Genera l Manager, spoke to the Council about services and program-
ming. Indianapolis Cablevision is requesting a franchise for cable
tv in Carmel in addition to the franchise already here.
Ome g a of Zionsville Cable TV - Mr. Michael Maurer, Omega of
Zionsville Cable TV spoke to the Council stating his company was
not interested in another franchise but here to state their track
record, to be used as a resource and in the event the Council found
that the present proposed purchaser of TCI was not satisfactory,
that Omega would be interested in purchasing TCI and had, in fact,
made an offer. Mr. Mark Vaillancourt and Mr. Rusty Robertson of
Omega also spoke to the Council regarding the services provided by
Omega.
Mr. Harold Barron, 10187 Orchard Park W. Drive, Clay Twp., spoke to
the Council regarding his dissatisfaction with the present service.
His complaints included poor signal quality, poor community
service, and poor response to community complaints. Mr. Barron
requested an alternative cable TV.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, the
same was duly adjourned at 7:15 P.M.
