HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCM-03-17-86 MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MARCH l7, l986 The meeting of the Carmel City Council was called to order by Mayor Reiman at 7:00 P.M. on March 17, 1986, with Council members Miller, McMullen, Doane, Fleming and Badger present. Also present was Clerk-Treasurer Hancock. Invocation was given by Miss Doane followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Badger made a motion to approve the minutes of February 17, l986. Motion seconded by Mrs. McMullen and passed unanimously. Mrs. McMullen made a motion to approve the minutes of March 3, 1986. Motion seconded by Miss Doane and passed unanimously. Old Business Hamilton County Park Board - Lease Addendum - The Council was in receipt of the Addendum to Lease and Escrow Agreement of April 2, 1984. Mrs. McMullen made a motion to strike the word "be" on line 13 of page 2 and change the word "commenced" to "commence". Motion seconded by Mr. Badger and passed unanimously. Following discussion, Mr. Miller made a motion to approve the Addendum to Lease and Escrow Agreements of April 2, 1984. Motion seconded by Mrs. McMullen and passed unanimously. New Business State of the City Report - Mayor Reiman distributed the State of the City Report. Miss Doane thanked the Mayor for the report and made a motion that it not be read at the meeting but each Councilor read it later and that the report be made a part of the minutes. Motion seconded by Mr. Miller and passed unanimously. Carmel Cab Company - Update - Mayor Reiman announced that, after two letters to Mr. Lambert, owner of the Carmel Cab Company, Mk. Andrews, City Attorney would be filing a petition for restraining order to keep Mr. Lambert from operating the cab company from his residence. Mr. Kiphart, Director of the Dept. of Community Development, gave a report on the investigation, letters sent and a conversation he personally had with Mr. Lambert. The city has received numerous complaints about the business being operated from the residence. Request for Review of Parking Spaces for Restaurants by the Plan Commission - Mayor Reiman requested that Mr. Kiphart or Miss Doane and Mrs. McMullen, the Council representatives to the Plan Commission, ask the Plan Commission to review the ordinance setting required number of parking spaces for restaurants. The city is experiencing a parking problem where restaurants are located in small shopping centers where other business are located. There being no further business to come before the meeting, the same was duly adjourned at 7:35 P.M. ATTEST: APPROVED:
