HomeMy WebLinkAboutBPW-01-20-87MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS MEETING JAN. 20, 1987 The meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to order by Mayor Reiman at 5:15 P.M. on Jan. 20, 1987, with Board member Fred Swift, City Attorney Andrews and Clerk-Treasurer Hancock present. Mr. Swift made a motion to approve computerized claims in 3 sections, pages 1 thru 3 in the amount of $6,186.20, pages 1 thru 10 in the amount of $1,116,677.07 and pages 1 thru 10 in the amount of $5,042,140.21. Mayor Reiman seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Mr. Swift made a motion to approve handwritten claims in the amount of $24,188.00 Motion seconded by Mayor Reiman and passed unanimously. New Business Permission to Allow Clay Regional Waste District to Serve Faith Apostolic Church with Sewer - The Board was in receipt of a letter from City Engineer Tom Welch recommending Faith Apostolic Church be allowed to be temporarily served by the Clay Regional Waste District for their sewer service. The letter from CTRWD did not refer to temporary service. Mayor Reiman tabled this item until another letter was received from CTRWD. Sewer & Water Availability - Carmel Office Park - The Board was in receipt of a recommendation from City Engineer Welch to approve water and sewer availability for Building B of the Carmel Office Park. Mayor Reiman made a motion to approve water and sewer availability in the amount of .66 EDUs not to exceed an average daily flow of 198 gallons each. Motion seconded by Mr. Swift and passed unanimously. Mr. Walker arrived at this point. Sewer & Water Availability - Wedgewood - The Board was in receipt of a recommendation from City Engineer Welch to approve sewer and water availability for Wedgewood. Mr. Walker made a motion to approve water and sewer availability in the amount of 27 EDUs not to exceed a daily flow of 8100 gallons each. Motion seconded by Mayor Reiman and passed unanimously. Performance Bond Release - Carmel Science & Technology Park - The Board was in receipt of a recommendation from City Engineer Welch to release performance bond for streets in Carmel Science & Technology Park. Mr. Swift made a motion to approve Resolution 1- 20-87-1, release of Letter of Credit #9588 for streets in Carmel Science & Technology Park. Motion seconded by Mr. Walker and passed unanimously. 01/20/87 Page 2 Public Service of Indiana - Street Lights on Main Street at High School The Board was in receipt of a report from Public Service Indiana regarding the removal of some street lights and installation of others on Main Street at the Carmel High School. (Letter attached). Following discussion, Mr. Walker made a motion to keep the two 400 watt lights and change the rest of the lights to 250 watts per the letter and map. Motion seconded by Mr. Swift and passed unanimously. Disaster Guidelines Booklet - Chief Couts presented the Board with copies of the Disaster Guidelines Booklet prepared by Chief Couts. Mayor Reiman stated the City has had disaster guidelines but this is the first time they have been compiled into written form and distributed. Proposed Wastewater System Related Services - Commonwealth Engineers Mr. Don Silvey of Commonwealth Engineers presented the board with an agreement for proposed wastewater system related services including update of City's sewer master plan, provide technical assistance on requested basis and provide assistance in preparing EPA grant documents regarding city's EPA grant C180623 08. Mayor Reiman made a motion to approve the proposal with Commonwealth Engineers. Motion seconded by Mr. Walker and passed unanimously.
