Meeting Minutes
December 29, 1988
Carmel City Meeting Hall
5:15 P.M.
A special meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was
called to order by Mayor Dorothy Hancock. Bill McFadden was
present along with City Attorney Steve Andrews and Clerk-
Treasurer Susan W. Jones.
MINUTES - Bill McFadden made a motion to approve the minutes
of December 19, 1988. The motion was seconded by Mayor
Hancock. All members voted aye. Motion carried.
CLAlMS - Bill McFadden made a motion to approve claims dated
12/27/88, pages I through 15 in the amcunt of $10,471,031.01.
The motion was seconded by Mayor Hancock. All memhers voted
aye. Motion carried.
AWARD OF TRUCK BIDS - Mayor Hancock made motion to approve
the recommendation of Street Commissioner David Klingensmith
and award the truck bid submitted by Don Hinds Ford, 1360
South 10th Street, Noblesville, Indiana for two, 1989 trucks.
The motion was seconded by Bill McFadden. All members voted
aye. Motion carried.
AWARD OF QU0TES/UTILITIES - Bill McFadden made a motion to
reject all bids received for a new floor on the Brookshire
Water Plant based on the recommendation from Lee Dolen. The
motion was seconded by Mayor Hancock. All members voted aye.
Motion carried.
ACCEPTANCE OF APPRAISAL/CIVIC SQUARE PHASE. II - Bill
McFadden made a motion to accept the appraisals from Meid
Compton and Doug Marsh for the Civic Square Phase II project.
The appraisals were for $50,000 for the City Building and
$100,000 for the Police Station. Both these appraisals were
for the same amount and have been accepted hy the Building
Corporation and the Bond Counsel. The motion was seconded by
Mayor Hancock. All members voted aye. Motion carried.
SICK LEAVE EXTENSION - Bill McFadden made a motion to approve
the extension of sick leave by 4.5 days for officer Tracy
Taylor, CPD. The motion was seconded by Mayor Hancock. All
members voted aye. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Board of Public
Works, the meeting was adjourned.
