HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCM-12-19-88CARMEL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES December 19. 1988 7:00 P.M. Carmel City Meeting Hall The meeting of the Carmel City Council was called to order by Mayor Dorothy J. Hancock. Councilors Doane, Potasnik, Johnson, Lonzo, Fleming and Irvin were present. City Attorney Steve Andrews and Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Janet Rogers were also in attendance. The invocation was given by Councilor Doane followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilor Potasnik to approve the Council minutes of December 5, 1988 as amended. The motion was seconded by Councilor Irvin. All members voted aye. Motion carried. The amendment was on page 2 listed under "Salary Survey". Councilor Fleming stated he did not say it was "promised" but wanted to know why it had not been brought back before the Council. He also stated he did not say he asked for copies to be distributed in the Mayor's absence. A Resolution l2-l9-88~ Transfer of Funds/Carmel Fire Department: motion was made by Councilor Irvin and seconded by Councilor Lonzo to approve the transfer of $28,839.00 from account 101 to 642 within the General Fund, Fire Department budget. All members voted aye. Motion carried. the Council stated they did not like having these kinds of matters brought before them on the last meeting date of the year. Councilor Lonzo made a motion to Annexation C-135 Guilford Woods: introduce Ordinance C-135 and suspend the rules for reading of the same. The motion was seconded by Councilor Potasnik. All members voted aye. Motion carried. It was decided that this was a rezone rather than an annexation. Councilor Johnson made a motion to table the petition. The motion was seconded by Councilor Lonzo. All members voted aye. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilor Lonzo Speed Limit Ordinance D-591: and seconded by Councilor Potasnik to introduce Ordinance D-591 and suspend the rules for reading of the same. This ordinance established a speed limit of 30 mph on West 126th Street from US 31 to Dorset Boulevard. Councilor Lonzo made a motion to suspend the rules and act on Ordinance D-591 tonight. The motion was seconded by Councilor Lonzo. All members voted aye. Motion carried. Resolution 12-19-88-2/Amending the Approved Amount of Phase II Bond Councilor Lonzo made a motion to introduce Resolution 12 Issue: 19-88-2. The motion was seconded by Councilor Doane. The amount on the Resolution was typed as (900,750,000.00) and should have been (9,750,000.00). All members voted aye. Resolution 12-19-88 2 passed unanimously.
