BPW-10-31-88 SPECIALBO ARD OF PUBLIC WORKS 8PECIAL MEETING NINUTE8 OCTOBER 31, 1988 5:15 P.M. CARNEL FIRE 8TATION #l A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to order by Mayor Dorothy J. Hancock. Members in attendance were Bill McFadden and Fred Swift. Others in attendance were City Attorney Steve Andrews and Clerk-Treasurer Susan W. Jones. City Civic Sguare Phase II/Lease Agreement/Public Hearing: Attorney Steve Andrews explained the lease between the City of Carmel and the Building Corporation. Mr. Andrews stated the lease would be for 22 years and the payments would be $950,000 per year. The lease would begin at the time of occupancy. At this time Mayor Hancock opened the hearing to the public. Upon hearing no objections or questions the Mayor closed the public hearing and opened it back up to the members of the Board of Public Works. Fred Swift made a motion to approve Resolution 10-31-88-1 which authorizes the Mayor to appoint two appraisers, gives authority to the Mayor to execute deeds and sign construction bids, approves the lease and authorizes the assignment of the construction bids to the building corporation. The motion was seconded by Bill McFadden and all members voted aye. Resolution 10-31-88-1 passed unanimously. (Members of the Civic Square Building Corporation are appointed by the Mayor and are as follows: John Proffit, Chairman, Dan O'Malia, Evan Parks, Ken Keltner, Secretary and William York.)
