MEETING MINUTES
APRIL 18, 1988
5:15 P.M.
CARMEL MEETIN G HALL
The meeting of the Carmel Board of Public Works and Safety
was called to order at 5:15 P.M. by Mayor Dorothy Hancock.
Members in attendance were Fred Swift and Bill McFadden. City
Attorney Andrews and Clerk-Treasurer Jones were also in
attendance.
Fred Swift made a motion to approve the minutes of April 4,
1988. The motion was seconded by Bill McFadden. All members
voted aye. Motion carried.
Fred Swift made a motion to approve all claims dated 4/14/88
in the amount of $889,248.14. The motion was seconded by Bill
McFadden. All members voted aye. Motion carried.
- Bill McFadden made a motion
Bike-A-Thon-Carmel Lions Club
to allow the Bike-A-Thon sponsored by the Carmel Lions Club
on May 14, 1988. The motion was seconded by Fred Swift. All
members voted aye. Motion carried.
- The Board of
Signatures for Records- Police Department
Public Works signed the personnel record for Samuel Haymaker,
Robert Pelzer, Gregory York and Kimberly Christy.
Block 15 Canmel Science & Technology Park/Two Commercial Curb
- A curb cut plan was presented to the Board for the
Cuts
above mentioned project. The first entrance would be off of
Guilford Road approximately 590 feet north of Adams Road and
480 feet south of the north property line of the Park. The
Board of Public Works would not approve the Guilford Road
curb cut. Chris White of Paul I Cripe, Inc. stated he would
resubmit his plan at a later date.
Performance Bond Release/Foster Estates Sec. 3/Off-Site
- A motion was made by Mayor
Sanitary and On-Site Sanitary
Hancock and seconded by Fred Swift to pass Resolution 4-18-
88-1 for the release of performance bonds in Foster Estates
Section 3, On and Off Site Sanitary sewers. All members voted
aye. Motion carried.
Performance Bond Releases/Foster Ridqe/Monuments, Markers and
- A motion was made by Fred Swift and seconded
Street Signs
by Bill McFadden to pass Resolution 4-18-88-2 for the release
of performance bonds in Foster Ridge for monuments, marks and
street signs. All members voted aye. Motion carried.
Performance Bond Releases/Foster Grove, Section 4, Sidewalks
- A motion was made by Bill McFadden and

seconded by Mayor Hancock to pass Resolution 4-18-88-3 for
the release of performance bonds in Foster Frove Section 4
for sidewalks and street signs. All members voted aye. Motion
carried.
Perfonmance Bond Release/Woodfield, Section 4/Off-Site Storm
- A motion was made by Fred Swift and seconded by
Drainaqe
Bill McFadden to pass Resolution 4-18-88-4 for the release of
performance bonds in Woodfield, Section 4 for off-site storm
drainage. All members voted aye. Motion carried.
Contracts for Preliminary engineering/116th and 126th Street
- A motion was made by Mayor Hancock and seconded by Bill
McFadden to approve the preliminary engineering agreements
with Butler, Fairman and Seufert, Inc. for 126th Street. All
members voted aye. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Fred Swift and seconded by Bill McFadden
to approve the preliminary engineering agreements with
Butler, Fairman and Seufert, Inc. for 116th Street. All
members voted aye. Motion carried.

Additional Planting/Carmel Drive to Guilford
Kirch of Frits Loonsten, Inc. presented a plan for additional
planting of trees along Carmel Drive to Guilford Street and
on both sides of 122nd Street to Hancock Street and down the
east side of Hancock Street. The Board approved such a plan
provided that letters of approval were obtained and submitted
to the City Engineer from all utilities.
There being no further business before the Board of Public
Works the meeting was duly adjourned.
