HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCM-02-08-88 SpecialMINUTES OF THE CARMEL CITY COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 8, 1988 The special meeting of the Carmel City Council was called to order at 7:05 P.M. on February 8, 1988 at the Carmel City Meeting Hall by Mayor Dorothy Hancock. Council members Miller, Doane, Irvin Potasnik, Fleming, Johnson and Lonzo were present. Others in attendance were City Attorney Steve Andrews and Clerk- Treasurer Susan Jones. Invocation was given by Miss Doane followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Public Hearing/Resolution 2-8-88-1/County Option Income Tax Hancock opened the public hearing to the public. There being no questions or objections from the public the Mayor closed the public hearing and opened the hearing to the Council for questions and/or discussion. There being none, Councilor Lonzo made a motion to suspend the rules and act on Resolution 2-8-88- 1. Mayor Hancock called for the vote on the motion. All members voted aye. Motion carried. Mayor Hancock then called for the vote on Resolution 2-8-88-1. All members voted aye. Resolution 2-8-88- 1 passed unanimously. Councilor Ordinance D-541/No Parking Ordinance on Second Street Lonzo stated he had talked with Dale Graham and he had a problem with restricting parking on both the northside and the southside of the street. Councilor Johnson asked if the police could study the problem before next Monday night's meeting. The Mayor stated she would try to have that information for the Council by next Monday night. Councilor Bus Service to Summer Trace and St. Vincents Hospital Doane asked if that could be a consideration of the Council at a later date. She stated that St. Vincents Hospital and Summer Trace were experiencing employment problems due to a lack of transportation to those two businesses .
