MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 3, 1989
5:15 P.M.
CARMEL CITY MEETING HALL
The Board of Public Works and Safety was called to order by
Mayor Dorothy J. Hancock. Members in attendance were Billy
Walker and Steve Spaugh. City Attorney Steve Andrews and
Clerk-Treasurer Susan W. Jones were also in attendance.
AGREEMENT/RECONSTRUCTION ON GRAY ROAD: Billy Walker made a
motion for the City of Carmel to begin reconstruction work on
Gray Road at 116th Street along with three, possibly four
developers (Robert Langston, Richard Fisher, Paul Estridge,
Sr. and Jim Dugan). The developers agreeing to the excavation
of affected area, furnishing stone to site, grading and
finishing, posting barricades and signs and mobilization and
insurance. All work being done will meet City standards and
code with inspections being made by the City. Billy Walker
also directed Wes Bucher to notify the school of the
construction and schedule. Billy Walker also directed the
final agreement being made available for review and approval
by the City. The motion was seconded by Steve Spaugh. All
members voted aye. Motion carried.
ENGINEERING/RECONSTRUCTION ON GRAY ROAD/COMMONWEALTH
ENGINEERING: A motion was made by Steve Spaugh and seconded
by Billy Walker to approve the engineering costs of
Commonwealth Engineering to be paid by the the City from the
Board of Public Works (General Fund) budget. (Estimated cost
$5,000.00). This engineering would be done for the
reconstruction of Gray Road at 116th Street.
All members voted aye. Motion carried.
FINAL CHANGE ORDER/116TH STREET PROJECT: A motion was made by
Steve Spaugh and seconded by Mayor Hancock to approve the
final change order for the 116th Street project. The change
order is #5 on ~ob #H8739 and is a decrease in the amount of
$2,865.80 for Shelly and Sands. All members voted aye. Motion
carried.
SEWER AVAILABILITY/ROHRER MEADOWS: Mayor Hancock made a
motion to approve sewer availability for Rohrer Meadows,
Sections 1 and 2 in the amount of 43 E.D.U.'s as per sewer
ordinance S-41 Chapter 7. Not to exceed an average daily flow
of 12,900 gallons. The motion was seconded by Steve Spaugh.
All members voted aye. Motion carried.
COMMERCIAL CURB CUTS/HAMILTON CROSSING (WEST): Billy Walker
made a motion to approve the commercial curb cuts for
Hamilton Crossing (West) as submitted, closing an existing
curb cut on 126th Street and replacing it with a similar curb
cut located eighty (80) feet to the south east and to also
curb cut on Meridian Corners Boulevard approximately 470 feet
south of 131st. The motion was seconded by Steve Spaugh. All
members voted aye. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Board of Public
Works, the meeting was duly adjourned.
