COUNCIL CHAMBERS ONE CIVIC SQUARE The meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was called to order by Mayor Dorothy J. Hancock. Members in attendance were David Taylor and Billy Walker (Billy Walker arrived at 5:20 p.m.) . ADDITIONS TO AGENDA: Mayor Hancock made a motion to add the following items to the agenda. 1. Claims: Hoving Company $4,804.95 and Gordon Byers for $1,500.00 2. Lot 1/Woodgate-Approval of final document. 3. Final Plat Approvals for Rohrer Meadows, Section 2 Woodgate, Section 5 and Woodfield, Section 7A Request to close Civic Square - South half - Wedding 5. Beeper Contract for CPD The motion was seconded by David Taylor. Ail members voted aye. Hotion carried. CLAIMS: David Taylor made a motion to approve claims dated 8/29/90 pages 1-12 in the amount of $1,586,159.32. The motion was seconded by Mayor Hancock. Ail members voted aye. Motion carried. Hayor Hancock made a motion to approve the claim for the Hoving Company in the amount of $4,804.95. The motion was seconded by David Taylor. Ail members voted aye. Hotion carried. Hayor Hancock made a motion to approve the claim for Gordon Byers in the amount of $1,500.00. The motion was seconded by David Taylor. Ail members voted aye. Motion carried. INDIANA PAGING NETWORK/PAGING CONTRACT/CPD: Steve Andrews stated the contract was in order. David Taylor made a motiCn to accept the contract for Indiana Paging Network for 29 pagers for the Carmel Police Department. The motion was seconded by Mayor Hancock. Ail members voted aye. Motion carried. LOT 1/WOODGATE/APPROVAL OF FINAL DOCUMENT: Steve Andrews stated for the record that Tom Welch (City Engineer) recommended the vacation of the portion of the utility easement for Lot 1 in Woodgate. Mayor Hancock made a motion to approve the final document through Resolution 9-4-90-1 which called for the vacation of a portion of the utility easement, as described in the resolution, for Lot 1 of Woodgate Subdivision. The motion was seconded by David Taylor. All members voted aye. Motion carried. SECONDARY PLAT APPROVAL/SIGNING OF DOCUMENTS: Mayor Hancock made a motion to approve and sign the final plats for Rohrer Meadows, Section 2, Woodgate, Section 5 and Woodfield, Section 7A. The motion was seconded by David Taylor. All members voted aye. Motion carried. STREET CLOSING FOR WEDDING: Teresa Mazzoni requested the south half of Civic Square be closed for a wedding on September 8, 1990 at 5:30 P.M. Miss Mazzoni stated she would be willing to pay for private security to direct traffic. After much discussion Billy Walker made a motion to deny the request and to deny any request such as this when traffic has to be re-directed or stopped. The motion was seconded by Mayor Hancock. All member voted aye. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board the meeting was adjourned. APPROVED
