HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCM-02-19-90CARMEL CITY CO UNCIL MEETING MINUTES FEBRUARY 19, 1990 CARMEL CITY MEETING HALL 7:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Dorothy J. Hancock. Council members present were Minnie Doane, Alan Potasnik, Annabelle Ogle, Lee Lonzo, David Adams and Frank Fleming. Deputy Clerk- Treasurer Janet Rogers was also in attendance. New Police Officers were sworn in SWEARING IN NEW POLICE OFFICERS: by Police Chief Gary Barney. Councilor Potasnik asked that no parenthesis be used in MINUTES: the minutes. Councilor Lonzo made a motion to amend the minutes beginning with page 2, first sentence, to remove statement concerning account #457 and the statement concerning claims under the communication center. The motion was seconded by Councilor Potasnik. All members voted aye. Motion carried. Councilor Potasnik made a motion to remove the parenthesis from the last paragraph. The motion was seconded by Councilor Lonzo. All members voted aye. Motion carried. Councilor Potasnik made a motion to approve the minutes as amended. The motion was seconded by Councilor Adams. All members voted aye. Motion carried. Bonnie ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION/GENERAL FUND/$6,000/RECYCLING: Callahan made a presentation and up-date on the status of the recycling project. It was determined the $6,000 would not be needed. The project would be done through donations. Councilor Lonzo asked the Attorney to KINGSWOOD/STOP SIGN REQUESTS : prepare ordinances for discussion and for police, street and city engineer to submit traffic counts and surveys for Kingswood. The City Council requested the Clerk-Treasurer to supply them with copies of the original petitions submitted by the homeowners in Kingswood. Councilor Potasnik moved this item be returned to the agenda on March l9th. The motion was seconded by Councilor Adams. All members voted aye. Motion carried. Councilor Adams gave his report SURPLUS COMMITTEE REPORT : concerning the surplus property owned by the City. Councilor Adams asked that the scope of the committee be expanded and they wanted authorization to determine what is owned property by the City and the best use for the vacated property.
